2022 2.3L Slow to shift from drive to reverse

My mom's is slow to switch from drive to reverse and/or vice versa, though it's more like 1-3 seconds probably. Ford really didn't seem to do a good job of refining this transmission.

    Highest Mileage 5th Generation Explorer

My mom recently sold her 2011 with 292k miles on it. The water pump never had to be replaced, but the A/C compressor did which wasn't cheap. The windshield trim of course had to be replaced, the door keypad had to be replaced, the steering assembly or whatever it was had to be replaced early on...

    Problem between 30-50MPH

I'm thinking about replacing my TQ myself. Can it be done without a lift? And what tools are needed other than basic things like wrenches and what not?

Does the lower part of the airbox just pull out? I can't seem to get it out.

Haha no worries. Thanks for the write up! I will probably end up doing the same.

Let us know if you figure anything out. I think I'm having the same problem.

That does indeed sound similar. Thanks!

    Odd Engine Noise (Video Attached)

Good questions. The noise sounds like it's either coming from the bottom rear of the engine or the transmission (though only part of the torque converter should be moving at idle I would think). It's a good bit quieter when you listen from the top of the engine. It makes the noise about 30...

    Odd Engine Noise (Video Attached)

My Explorer starting making this rather bad sounding noise recently, and I need help figuring out what it is. Hopefully someone can tell something from the video.

    4th Gen Explorer Pictures

It's definitely hard to beat the look and integration of the stock stereo, but I imagine that gives you some cool added features.

    2010 blend door actuator question.

It's pretty easy. Took me like 15 minutes.

    Brake Problems - Soft Pedal

Make sure none of the guide pins on any of the calipers are stuck. Not that this is your problem, but it will definitely affect braking performance.

    Highest Mileage 5th Generation Explorer

My mom's 2011 XLT is at ~243,000 currently. Unfortunately, no where nearly as reliable as the 2000 Expedition 4.6L that she put 316,000 miles on. The powertrain has been reliable, though.

Few pictures from my front end job: lower ball joints, outer tie rods, and stabilizer links.

So how big was the difference? I'm at 161k, and I think mine needs some refreshing in the front end as it feels slightly clunky.

Need to Find Replacement Coolant Hose

I think I've found what I need - the part # is KH463. It's more than just the hose that busted, but it seems to be the only way to replace it, which I suppose is okay considering it's not a bad idea to replace more of the 13-year-old hose.

Need to Find Replacement Coolant Hose

So one of the coolant hoses burst on my '06 4.6L Explorer recently, and I'm having a hard time finding the replacement part based on the part # on the hose. As far as I can tell the # is 6L24-18C266-AK, but that doesn't return anything when I search. Anybody know what the replacement is...

    How To Align Steering Wheel?

I got it aligned when I got the tires 2 weeks ago. It was immediately off-center. I guess I will take it back, I just didn't want to deal with the hassle.

    How To Align Steering Wheel?

So I got new tires and an alignment on my Explorer recently, but in doing so the steering wheel is now slightly crooked to the right. Anyone know what the process is to realign the steering wheel?

    2020 Ford Explorer photos

It's kind of like the change from the 3rd Gen to the 4th Gen in terms of exterior looks, though in this case it's going from FWD to RWD which is a huge improvement on a mid-size/large crossover, especially one with any real power.
