This is the most helpful piece of information on parts I have ever received. Thank you! http://www.fordification.com/tech/partnumbers_overview.htm

Oil level sensor leak fix? I'm reviving an old post and putting out an sos. Mine works, but leaks like a sieve down the center around the connector post. Right now, all I've found is this one on ebay...

    Steering measurement request

I dropped the center link connection to replace the steering gear in mine. I'm putting in the new gear this afternoon and will try to get you some of my measurements. I have a 91 XLT 4wd manual. TTYL Edit: Ok, my stock measurements are 30" on pass side, from the zerk fitting to center link...

Upper to lower shaft play Update: I was considering the Flaming River option. But was just having a hard time parting with $300 for their intermediate shaft and u-joints. However, I have good news for anybody who suspects their rag joint is getting too soft. I just bought one from Rock Auto for...

    RABS bypass

That's the same unit. I popped my head under the truck and there is definitely an adapter on the rear line. I can't tell if the engine side does, but I really want to say that there was no need for the adapter on the engine side. Personally, I would pick up two adapters and just return one if...

    RABS bypass

Hi there, If my memory serves me well, I believe that we only needed one adapter for the rear side. We'll be out working on the truck today, so I'll be back with a more comprehensive answer later today.

Zombie Assault Preparedness Vehicle or ZAPV

Judging by the decals left and right of it, I'd chance a guess that they have their own or close access to a vinyl plotter. Very clean work!

    Gas Siphoning Troubles

Pretty sure there's a screen a couple feet down the line that'll prevent you from reaching the tank.

One more "What the heck is that" thread.

91 Explorer 4x4, Manual Trans. A little over a year ago I decided to dive into a tranny rebuild. We were bright enough to mark the bolts, but none of the larger "mystery pieces". Any idea what some of these things are? Number one (comes with a matching pair): Exterior piece. Retaining plate...

Garmin Nuvi hardwire install on 2004 Explorer

Looks like I'm able to do this! I have a cigarette adapter similar to yours, my question is how did you hook up the hot and ground to the adapter? One to each of the metal side clips on the adapter? Finding a proper place to tie in is no problem. Thanks again. :) ____ | Thanks for the...

 It's $10 at the gate, I believe. Best time to get out there is the weekday afternoons. Have fun!

I'd like to get to know some of the active Sacramento members

In short: If you're already in the area and have a half to full day to kill, go for it! It wouldn't be worth it, to me, to make a special trip out from the Bay Area. I could spend a whole day out there, but it would be hiking and beach time, not wheeling. There are some 4x4 trails, but I'd...

NOR CAL! It's not my style, but this beaut is someone's baby! God I couldn't get a wax finish like that on a new car, let alone a Gen 1.

I'd like to get to know some of the active Sacramento members

We're out of Roseville. Hello! Truck's out of commission, but we'll be back on the road by the end of the month. :) Oh, and Rattlesnake Bar opened up last month, there are a few interesting trails at various levels of difficulty. Good fun for being a local spot but the lakes up to capacity so...

Official Moab to Monument Valley 2012 trip report

Brian & TBars, What great shots of White Rim! We're heading out at the end of May and White Rim was already top of the list. Seeing the film of Hardscrabble and Murphy's just gets me more amped about our up coming adventure. I don't think we'll have any problem filling three days on that...

How close have you been to running out of gas?

My first car's fuel gauge was a 1/4 tank off. I didn't figure that out until I stalled in the middle of a right turn. I started her up, continued along my journey, then stalled in another right turn. Fortunately, It was only 100 yards to a gas station at that point. I think I had a half gallon...

:wavey: Heh, my apologies. It was actually the p.38 list. For what it's worth I updated post #898 to include all members from page 36 forward (There were a few misses, it's happens). I would also like to back making a new thread for registering numbers. Among other reasons, it is just too...

Garmin Nuvi hardwire install on 2004 Explorer

I'm really liking the dash mount, but both installs are very clean. Loose wires also make me stir crazy, I can't even handle the CB mic cable dangling from the dash. Dash mount GPS is on the to do list. Another day, another project. :) Good work, guys!
