Clicking from Glove Box. Heater/Blend Door problem???

Good evening everyone. Had a loud "CLICKING" come from behind the glove box today, from what I believe to be the "Blend Door Actuaror", or the housing of said part. Heater is running at it's highest temperature setting only, even when I lower the temperature setting to it's lowest and turn it...

Transmission Experts: Diagram/schematic/photo needed on TSS sensor location.

Calling all Transmission experts on this forum. After much reading on my transmission problem, I need a good diagram/schematic or photo of where the TSS sensor is located on a 1997 5R55E transmission. I'm aware that it's an internal sensor but I'm assuming that it has a plug/connector on the...

Confused. Which sensor is which??? PO715

ODS Sensor delete I don't think I've had the ODS sensor deleted, but I can't be sure until I get up under the truck. I did find the TSB you referred to, so I'm assuming that the sensor should be deleted if it hasn't already. The article I found read as this: Article No. 97-15-28...

Confused. Which sensor is which??? PO715

Thanks for the reply. I haven't seen the OD light in years. Depressing the button on the gear shifter to turn it on or off does nothing. Where would that sensor be located, and would it have anything to do with the tranny shift problems & the PO715 error code?

Confused. Which sensor is which??? PO715

I got a PO715 code showing up. The read out said it was the Transmission Speed Sensor causing the problem. It read:"P0715."Transmission Speed Sensor circuit condition. Error code P0715

Cleared the PO715 code/changed sensor, but same problem. I cleared the code and drove it for several days. Drove fine at first, then the Tranny once again started doing the same thing and the code came back. I replaced sensor, but same symptoms: Check engine Light came back on. I took it to...

    Error code P0715

Greetings all. Here's the problem. The other day, my Explorer gave a hard jerk while changing into 2 (maybe 3rd?) gear. Never happened before. I was under 20 MPH & had just stared it. Speedometer works as do all the dials. My Check Engine light came on & when I had the code pulled it read quote...

Starter problem escalates. New starter kills new battery. WTF????

Problem solved. I replaced the battery, starter, battery cables, and finally the alternator, and now the truck runs perfectly. From what I was told, the alternator failed, which caused the battery to fail, which in turn caused the starter to fail. Having less than perfect battery cables...

Alternator bad as well Recharged battery and bench tested starter twice. Starter passed both times. Also had alternator tested while I was at it, and it showed as being bad. Since it was under warrenty, I replaced it. Soon as I get new battery cables, I'll put it all back together, triple check...

Starter problem escalates. New starter kills new battery. WTF????

Alternator was bad. as well. New starter checked out OK. Bench tested twice to be sure, and battery has been recharged. Curiously, the guy at the parts place thought that the alternator may have been the reason why this whole series of events began, when I tried giving a jump start to a friend...

Starter problem escalates. New starter kills new battery. WTF????

Wires are now out I went and pulled all the wires from the battery & relay all the way down to the starter. Although they'd seen better days, they wern't all that bad, just a few places on the negative cable were it grounds to the chassis & frame. Of cousse it would be foolish to put the old...

Bench testing starters. A quick question. I'm taking my starter in to be bench tested today. The original one I took off the truck failed a bench test & I replaced it. However, continuing problems are forcing me to go and have the replacement tested as well. My question is simple: A...

Starter problem escalates. New starter kills new battery. WTF????

Err..... I'm hoping your'e not refering to the ENTIRE wiring harness. If so I may as well get ready to sell it for parts or scrap it. Of course if its just all the cables and wires connecting the battery, starter, relay, etc. etc. then that was ny next step.

Problem NOT solved. Worse! Got old starter off, new starter connected & mounted. Was able to crank truck and I thought my troubles were over. Unfortunately, the truck wouldnt start a second time. Relay wire "Plugged" into starter. Thanks for the info. It's greatly appreciated. The starter is loose and ready to drop EXCEPT for one thing: The small RED wire attached to the starter & running to the relay on the fender, is "Plugged", for lack of a better term, into the starter. The wire...

Advice on how to remove starter? Starter problems OK, I've checked the power at all the relative connections and I have power where I should at the times I should. :rangerred: Hey Dave1955. I just crawled out from under truck. Can't find any damaged wires, but the top of the starter is in a damn tight place. From where I'm laying, there's no way to see up on top, and Im not familiar with how it connects. Trying to feel by hand isnt a lot of help. Not...

    Wierd electrical/ignition/starter/problem

Anti Theft You know, I ran across a thread on this forum that refered to that. I suppose it's not outside the realm of possabilities. Especially since the door lock engage/disengage after every 5 or 6 tries at the ignition switch. I was able to get it started once this morning, but since...
