i have the same issue on my 05 xlt sammy. when on "max ac" the vents will blow through all fronts for a minute, then switch to just defrost. not sure what causes it, i just leave mine set to "ac"

I agree with Brian, it's easy, just jump in and tackle it and you'll see what we're saying. That bezel is only 2 screws and some compression clips, and if you order that scoche kit in the linked thread then you get the triangle stabilizer too. Or jb weld would work too :) it's a totally doable...
