    4x4 engaging but clunks in front

    Sounds like normal noises that you would hear in four wheel drive on pavement. Our transfer cases send power equally to the front and rear diffs, so just like if you were to have a locker in the rear and turn your tire would squeel and you would possible have some hopping going on...

    Mine did that when I bought it, The wiring harness in the back of the switch wasnt plugged in, I'd start by pulling out the switch and seeing if its plugged in.

    Alright thank you. Thats all I needed to know. thats a good idea, but not practical for the two more years its got left as a highway vehicle. I dont want to have to do that much re gearing twice, nut definitely thank you for the idea, and the answer to my question.
