absolutely not. You do not tow that kind of trailer with an explorer. ESPECIALLY a 2002. You need a truck for that kind of trailer and weight.

I can't imagine a single scenario where it would be necessary to have different tread designs (meaning different brand or model of tire) on the same axle. This is a basic no no for ANY vehicle. And even worse on a 4x4

Have you checked with a ford dealer?

A torque converter that rattles? Perhaps a trans shop can get you a Dacco reman. Have you checked into that? Or possibly even Jasper engines and transmissions.

well ours has 127k on it, never had the trans serviced. never even seen the fluid. (there's no dipstick, thanks ford) And transmissions can be fixed. it's not like if the trans goes out you have to junk the car.

MOST vehicles do not have a TC drain plug. You change what's in the pan and it refreshes the rest. If it's real bad, then you do it several times in a row. If you start them up with the pan off, some of the TC fluid will come out, but not near all of it.
