well im back with a 96 red sport and it will be lowered. i gave up on lowering the green 96 that i had asked questions about back in 2010. it has since been converted to 4wd and lifted 7 inches and rolls on 36 inch tires. now on to the lowered explorer. im thinking maybe 2 inches. seems safe...

Anyone ever have to replace the lower steering shaft that goes to the steering rack? I priced one at work and with it at employee price it's still too damn expensive. Was wondering if anyone has found a aftermarket shaft, or had made their own.

Ok I looked through 15 pages in this section could not find anywhere that had any info, but would a transfer case from a 2001 ranger work on a 1996 Explorer? I never really looked but I'm sure both the 5r44E/5r55E is just about the same as the 4r44e/4r55e. Any info would be gratefully appreciated.

HI i dont think i posted in here yet, well I have a 1996 faded light green os something like that color Whoredoor explorer 2wd lowered 7 inches due to 4 inch suspension drop as well as shorter tires to equal the 7 inch drop, and a 4.slow v6 auto. hope to continue to learn more here.
