    driver puddle lamp

After many months of waffling I finally got around to it. Both the puddle lamp and lock switch problem were caused by broken wires in the door boot. Little did I know I'd be solving 2 problems instead of 1. The black wire with the purple stripe goes to the puddle lamp and the pink wire with...

    Illuminated entry

I did not know if anyone has tried this... GM vehicles have their reverse lights come on during illuminated entry (30-60 seconds long). Some of our Explorers have illuminated entry, but just the interior and puddle lamps. Has anyone tried (or been successful) wiring the reverse lamps this...

How to: How To: Drivers Exterior Door Handle Replacement

Exactly the same picture I could have taken from mine. I rebent the end of it and reinstalled it back into the latch mechanism. I'm able to lock/unlock again, but only the outside door handle works. I had followed the process outlined in this post, but the interior door handle no longer...

    2000 explorer wiper motor

thumping noise if you hear a thumping noise about every few seconds (with the wiper on high), then it might just need a "push" to get going again. mine was on the blink, but i heard a thumping sound in the tailgate like it wanted to go but wouldn't. i tugged on the wiper along it's sweep...

p1131 and hesitation/stumbling in all speed ranges; high/low o2 sensor voltages

success replaced both upstream o2 sensors and it everything appears to be back to normal. here is what my old sensors looked like (picture on left shows bank 1 sensor; picture on right shows both: bank 1 and 2 from left to right). i don't know how to tell if they look bad just by the look of...

p1131 and hesitation/stumbling in all speed ranges; high/low o2 sensor voltages

thanks for correcting me im able to read all four sensors now after programming the other 2 into my scangauge. what im noticing (on my drive home today) on the upstream sensors is that the voltage stays higher (at around .7V) on bank 2 about 3/4s of the time. bank 1 will rise briefly to...

my mistake...i only had the two sensors from bank one being read on the scangauge. im going to set it to read the others from bank 2. ill get back after driving it a little.

i recently have been getting 3 trouble codes; only one of which is a legitimate one: p1131 - o2 sensor bank lean p0000 p0000 there is hesitation during idle and across all speed ranges (particularly @ highway speeds). using my ScanGauge II I was able to view the o2 sensor readings and its...
