    Be careful about using the seperator plate from the other vb. If the other vb was as old as you said they may not be compatible. Do you have the atsg update manual? If not email or pm me and I will send you the info...but basically the newer one prob has the reverse engagement valve, and down...

    A4ld shifter help

    I can't tell where your manual valve is lining up... If you put shifter in 2, the first land on the manual valve should be flush with the edge of the bore, on the z clip side....supposed to be within about .01 inch of flush. If not you can adjust it to correct position. Respects, Ragga

    Just to keep everyone informed... I know you are all breathlessly awaiting news... Dropped pan and checked manual valve positioning, really thought that might be it...but it seems good. Replaced seals on low/reverse servo, I only have the o-ring type, and I checked with a screwdriver, stuck...

    Greets Phil, I bought Transgo Jr shift kit, I wanted the boost valve and index also, and improved seals for low/reverse servo...(he only had thick o-ring type, same as were in my kit I think, I bought a set just in case since they were only 1.32 for both..which I forgot were included in Transgo...

    A4LD VB Seperator plate question?...My Bad... Just reread the atsg update manual, I see now that my plate is a later version with small hole at bore 211, and three hole pattern at bore 207... Still curious about ports on test plate if anyone has any info........... Respects, Ragga

    Is your a4ld a later model with snap shell on input shell with sun gear (the sun gear on bottom of this goes into rear planetary) and a 4.0 liter? If so, there was a flat steel washer it's thrust washer #14 I think, it has 20sum teeth in hole, matches bottom of snap shell, it was eliminated...

    I am doing the Transgo Jr kit before reassembling VB, and I noticed something, not sure if it matters or not.... On the transgo instructions for drilling holes out in sep plate, hole "B" is above and slightly to the left of a port that is like a small rectangle with corner cut off and rounded...

    Greets, The reverse band just drops in to the bottom of the case, it pretty much only fits correctly when it is facing the correct way...if it's backwards there is almost 0 clearance between it and the case etc. it has 2 tabs on one side 1 tab on the other... As far as the intermed and OD...

From what I can see in pics everything looks very clean.....you have some of the newer parts that I saw in Glaciers tutorial with the newer trans...center support w/ needle bearing etc. , You have OD drum at the back with star washer in it...is there any wear on edges of "castle teeth...

    Diagnosing no reverse issue in A4LD pressure test results

    Ok, Just to update...after reading more from Brooklyn Bays useful threads, and googling a bit on pressure results, it looks like all my pressure readings are very high...too high actually. So I am going through valve body...picked up transgo jr shift kit today....will start on VB tommorow...

    When you remove the front pump, there are two ring gears...the smaller one was broken in three places.... I have horrible short term memory, and I pulled it 3 or 4 weeks ago....so don't get worried based on that unless someone here who is more experienced can tell you for sure if you should be...
