    Tire Fit info

The General Grabber HT2 is a very quiet tire, and I had them on most of my SUV's. Right now, I have Pirelli Scorpion Verde All Season Plus II on my Explorer. They are very quiet also, and handle nicely. So far, they are pretty good in the snow. So were the Generals.

    4.0 to 3.5 turbo conversion

I have seen Coyote swaps in 4th gen Explorers. One of the cleanest ones had both pcm's in it so the engine would run properly. I don't know how it was done, but you would probably need to do something similar to use the F150 3.5L.

    Front Suspension Wobble

I had a similar problem. It turned out to be the TPMS. The band which attaches it to the wheel broke, which let the sensor float around inside the tire. Every time I slowed down, the sensor would move, which changed the balance of the tire. It would get better and worse. Jack the front up and...

    Heater control valve

Common issues are the radiator leaking, and the thermostat housing on the 4.0 engines. Also, the rear heater hose on the 4.6, where it goes past the exhaust manifold. And the spring clamps can fail over time. They are only used during vehicle assembly at the plant, and sometimes on replacement...

How to correct the displayed miles per gallon?

An easy way to check your speedo is to install a speedo app on your phone and check what it says when the speedo says 60mph. mine was off slightly, so i put a slightly bigger tire on and now its perfect.

    Solved CODE P0171-P0174.

Has a mechanic looked it over? You're just throwing money at the problem. Get a good mechanic to look it over correctly and find out what's wrong with it before spending any more money.

Just picked up a 4th Gen, goodbye 3rd Gen

Honestly, for $300 plus parts, I would rebuild the trans while the engine is out. Just for peace of mind. The 5R55 transmissions tend to go bad over time and miles. It shouldn't need too many parts if it was maintained properly.
