    electrical / fuel fire

Once I get the check from the insurance company I'm going to start parting out the X. I'm getting an '01 F150 extended cab flare side for free and transferring my plates to that.

    electrical / fuel fire

Well the insurance company totaled it out. I am buying the truck back but I'm not sure yet what I'm going to do with it just yet. I don't know yet if I'm going to sell it as a whole or part it out. Here in about a week I will decide.

    electrical / fuel fire

Yeah me too. I could have lost my house if I hadn't acted quickly. I had it parked about 5ft from the house.

    electrical / fuel fire

Don't know just yet what the insurance will say, but I will keep that in mind.

    electrical / fuel fire

So the other night my truck caught fire. I was driving home from work and got gas and about half way home I had a strong smell of gas from somewhere i couldn't figure out. Pulled into my driveway and got out to see what it was, reached through the driver front fender to see if I could find a...

    Help!

IT'S ALIVE!!!! So I feel completely retarded now... My truck runs now. Had someone come out to look at it as it was way cheaper then taking it to the stealership($80 vs. $120 diagnostic +towing fees). It was a faulty relay for the ignition. Should have figured it was something simple. Thing...

    Help!

How do I go about checking the ckp signal and spark signal? I know I'm getting power to the center contact for the coils but how do I go about checkin the signal? And yes I use motorcraft everything when I can. I believe I have the fine wire plugs.

    Help!

OK, so I have still no spark.... I'm going to be calling around to a few dealerships to compare prices for the diagnosis. Does anybody have any insight as to what could be going on here? I really don't want to take it to the stealership.

    Help!

Well I cleaned as many connections as I can get too. Still same thing, no spark. Will anything throw a code while I'm cranking? I did notice that my tachometer doesn't move while cranking but don't remember if it did or not when it was running(as far as just before it started).

    Help!

I've got no spark. That's what my current issue is right now and I'm still trying to figure it out. I may be able to find it Monday afternoon.

    Help!

Things I have replaced so far: EGR valve, EGR tube, EGR solenoid, EGR position sensor, hoses from EGR tube to sensor, coil packs, plug wires, plugs, cam sensor and crank sensor. I have had the PCM tested. Tested good. Bought OBDII code reader and got zero codes. Friend told me to check all...

    Help!

So I broke down and bought a scanner. I have no codes...now I'm really clueless. What does this mean now.

    Help!

So I still have nothing. I refuse to take it to the stealership as they want $280 just to connect it to a computer and diagnose it.

    A/C Compressor is always on?

Mine does the same thing as well and has since I've bought the truck. I don't know the exact reason for why it does this but have been told it does it to help with condensation. Makes sense to me so I ignored it, until about a year ago, I wired in a kill switch to the compressor to shut it off...

    Help!

So a little update... Still no spark. I ground the mounting bracket to bare metal and cleaned the coils mounting surfaces spotless and still I have nothing. I give this thing one more week of tinkering and it will have to go to the stealership for diagnostics. I'd rather not go that route as I...

    Help!

Ok that's what I figured. I read somewhere on here where someone had a similar(not total loss) issue with spark on a v6 and they just cleaned all the rust and whatnot away and their truck ran way better. I have duty tomorrow so I will have to work more on this Wednesday. Thanks for all the...

    Help!

Are the coil packs supposed to be grounded through the plate or not? What I mean by that is would it be better if the plate where bare metal or stay painted?

    Help!

So my crank trigger ring(idk what it's actually called) is fine. I also removed my cam sensor to see if the gear had sheared by chance, nope solid. I rechecked the voltage going to the coil packs and tested fine. I'm now completely lost.

    Help!

This is why I'm totally confused as to what is going on here. I have never personally seen this happen before without it being a sensor or bad coil.

    Help!

I'm getting roughly 60 psi fuel pressure at the rail. My starter is only about 3 months old and is cranking the engine up to a decent speed, no change from before. My battery has about 13.5v at the time I was cranking(optima red top) and fully charged before I try cranking everytime(charge it...

I'll check that as soon as I get home from work later.

    Help!

It does turn over. It does everything its supposed to except spark. I have tested both coils and they are working. I have replaced the cam and crank sensor, new plugs, wires and packs and still no spark. I'm at a loss cause I have gone through everything by the book(Chilton's). It has good...
