    Rancho Quicklifts

I've had mine for almost a year now. I got the advertised lift out of it. I haven't measured any settlement at least as far as I can tell with a tape. Not cheap but the ride is the same as factory and you maintain good suspention travel without having to modify anything or replace parts...

    Cragar Soft 8's?

I've only had the wheels and tires about 3 months and 3k miles. I did have to have them rebalanced since I don't think America's Tire got it right the first time. Steel wheels are not as "perfect" as cast or machined as far as balance goes and the tires are not perfect either. With this size...

    Cragar Soft 8's?

Thanks, Doesn't look like the average mall crawler and she see's a fair amount of off-pavement use. The small lift and bigger rubber definately helps it's offroad capability. I'm very happy with it and it's still a work in progress. :chug:

    Cragar Soft 8's?

Yep it's 5" BS. There is only one 16x8, 5 on 4.5 wheel offered. No special lug nuts needed. I did get new nuts but there were included in the cost. the factory one's would of worked too. It's just a plain ol' steel wheel. Cheap too.... :dunno: Front view....

    Cragar Soft 8's?

I'm running 16x8 soft 8's with 265's and the tires stick out about an 1".

2002-2005 FAQ regarding lifts, tires, etc

Every rig is a little different and just because something works on one, doesn't mean it will work on another. IMO, anyone that is going to play the "mod my rig" game needs to be prepared to work on other things to make the mods work or fit. This is has just been my experience as I've never...

2002-2005 FAQ regarding lifts, tires, etc

I've left it on "5" and it rides almost as good as stock to me with 34psi in the tires. I have not played with it much but I will once I'm done hunting and can get more on road time. I've been doing a lot of off pavement driving so it's hard to get a good seat of the pants feel. Nope...

2002-2005 FAQ regarding lifts, tires, etc

Correct. No body lift, Just the Quicklifts. I got the advertised lift and it's still holding, no settling...yet. I see no reason to do anything else as this does what I need and want. Ride is great.

2002-2005 FAQ regarding lifts, tires, etc

Here's mine...Rancho Quicklifts and 265 Duratracs. Passenger side front rubs a little at full lock but it's just the plastic wheel well piece near the firewall. Not bad enough to worry about and nothing a zip tie to pull it back a little won't fix.

New rims, which soft 8's on a 3rd gen

FWIW, Here is what I ended up doing... 16x8 cragar soft 8's and 265/75 Duratracs. There is a slight rub on the passenger side on plastic wheel well shield but it's nothing a ziptie won't fix. I'm happy with the way it looks and the performance. I really like these tires. The ride is...

    Rancho Quicklift

The Rancho Quicklift is already giving you 1.5" of suspention lift and you want to add a spacer on top of that. Good luck in cramming all of that in there. Seems like you also need more than a 1" spacer as well due to bolt clearance. Seems like I read this somewhere in here. I'd suggest using...

    Rancho Quicklift

Not sure you can combine the quicklifts AND spacers. If you put quicklifts on all four corners maybe put the rears back to stock???

My 2005 Explorer V.4.0 - "Back Country Dirt Road Explorer"

Thanks! I'm over here in Mac. Ordered some Soft 8's (16x8) and 265/75 Duratracs this morning. Discount Tire rocks... Got the soft 8's for less than anywhere I could find online by $12/wheel plus $300 in rebates for the package. :D

My 2005 Explorer V.4.0 - "Back Country Dirt Road Explorer"

Ouch...Looks like you've has some "issues". Can't say I've had the same experience with the ford's I've had. All have been great rigs... Most driven past 130 to 150K miles. Only reason I got rid of them was for the want of something newer or the need for more heft. :dunno:

My 2005 Explorer V.4.0 - "Back Country Dirt Road Explorer"

Guess I'll start a registry to document my rig. This is my 4th Explorer. Had a 93, 01 and a 98, previously. First two were family rigs, both 4x4's but mostly a pavement pounder's. The 98 was a 2wd and what I call a transition rig. I needed to make some choices and gave up my 08 Bullitt...

    Rancho Quicklift

Got them installed... Stock height measured from ground to bottom of fender: Front - 34 1/8" Rear - 35 1/8" Quicklift height: Front - 35 5/8" Rear - 36 1/2" I drove it about 60 miles, remeasured, and got the same numbers so it looks like I got the 1.5" as advertised (1.25" in the...

    Rancho Quicklift

FWIW - I ordered as set for all 4 corners last week and they are going in tomorrow. Figured it was worth a shot since it's "shocktober" and there is a rebate offer availble if you buy all 4, you'll get a check for the lowest cost corner. Still more $ than spacers but I'm still not sold on the...

    Wrangler Authroity from Walmart

Yeah post some pics. Side, frontal, and rear please. I'm thinking about going this size and would like to see what they look like.

New rims, which soft 8's on a 3rd gen

Dang...Too bad we are not closer. I'm near Portland. The cost of shipping is as much or more as the wheels. :( I'd just want the wheels and I'd be willing to drive to the OR/CA border (Yreka) to pick them up. That would be about as far as I'd go.

New rims, which soft 8's on a 3rd gen

Yeah just like those. But....I was a little too late and they are gone. Mr. Truckles, that makes sense. I'll get the new struts in first and see what I get as far as lift and go from there.
