So I unhooked the battery for an hour or so and hooked it back up and the FOB works now.

Hey guys. My key fob quit working the other day. I put a new battery in it and it still doesn't work. I tested the new battery and its good. I searched around before I posted this but didn't find anything. Does anyone have a suggestion or answer to help fix my problem? Thanks, Mike

It shifts fine but starts making noise after the wrench pops up. I unhooked the battery and it was off but came back on after about 5 miles. Transmission shop said the converter is going bad and it's going to need a rebuild.

My 2006 V6 XLT with 309,000 miles just thru the P0741 code. The wrench popped up on my way home yesterday. I had the transmission rebuilt at 229,000 miles and its worked fine up until now. Anyone else experience this?

Expect to get a ton of miles on the SOHC if you change oil and filter regularly. The only engine work I did was to replace the O-rings on the intake manifold when it started acting up when I started it.

I sold my 97 SOHC at 423,000 miles. The guy I sold it to is still using it as his everyday ride. Rear main is leaking now. That's why I sold it.

I did. Had the trans rebuilt, replaced the tranfer case, replaced the rearend, fixed the A/C and replaced the intake gaskets. Engine has never been apart. I bought it with 104,000 miles. Right now the fuel pump quit when i parked it. Great vehicle. I bought an 06 to replace it.

423,000 on mine

A/C is easy. Get a can of refridgerant that has the manifold included(auto zone or advance) and add a can. Then the following day, take it and have someone use a leak detector to see where the leak is. Then replace that part and get it charged. I used to think A/C was a big deal. Piece of cake.

The way i look at it, a new car has a payment of 5 years. Any time i do a repair, its only a payment or two.

I have a 97 with a SOHC V6. It appears to be the same long block as my 2006 that has 230,000 miles. I use Castrol GTX and change it every 5000 religiously. I use a FL-1A filter. I have 423,000 and i've never been inside the engine. Does not burn a quart of oil between changes.

I have a mechanic coming by with a scanner to put on it.

I've bled the brakes repeatedly. I dropped it down on the ground. Will not go over 3-4mph and the front brakes apply themselves. No change when i turn the traction control off.

Bled the brakes again. Bled each wheel at least ten times. Never saw one air bubble. I have good pedal until i start it, at which point it goes to the floor.

I held the RSC button down for 5-10 seconds and it started blinking. The ABS light never went off. I will look further this evening. The battery is new.
