Cat replacment needed - Where to get?

Ford > Explorer > Year > Exhaust > Cat ...I believe The one I was referring to was for a 91-94 OHV. Not sure if pricing will be the same for you or not. If I'm not mistaken the forum here also gets a discount at RockAuto. There is a thread somewhere about that...

rear tire wobble. severe vibration(especially over bumps)

This. Seriously, I wouldn't even drive it to a shop. You could end up causing FAR more damage in costs than to have everything torqued down correctly.

Cat replacment needed - Where to get?

www.rockauto.com I'm guessing you're looking at direct fit. Cheapest direct fit rockauto has is just under $190 for a Magnaflow. If you have a friend with a welder or a cheap shop you could get it done for less buying a universal and having it welded in.

    rough after start-up

Take this with a grain of salt but intake manifold leak? Could be upper and lower intake manifold gaskets? Everything expands as it gets warmer hence it idles better after 5 minutes.

Don't know what to get... battery related.

I was thinking about that this morning... the Diehard and Craftsman names being picked up by another company after Sears goes down. Hopefully not by Optima and Harbor Freight, respectively. :D So you have had your Diehard Platinum for 2-3 years now, has it let you down?

Don't know what to get... battery related.

    1) Recent quality issues 2) Laid off American workers to move plant to Mexico 3) Recent quality issues http://www.explorerforum.com/forums/showthread.php?t=296766&highlight=optima http://www.pirate4x4.com/forum/showthread.php?t=913442

Don't know what to get... battery related.

I've narrowed my choices down to two. 1) Diehard Platinum for $198: 930 CCA, 4 year free replacement, rebadged Odyssey 2) Carquest NGT Extreme for $165: 800 CCA, 3 year free replacement, rebadged Deka Intimidator The Diehard IS a better battery IMO. My conundrum is that I believe Sears...

    Electrical Upgrade Questions

...and before OptimaJim comes in here saying that people didn't use to have these conversations a few years ago and that is the reason you wouldn't hear about these failure rates and that people aren't treating their AGM's correctly, or that parasitic draw is the culprit... He's just doing...

    For Sale Spring Cleaning

How much for the hood if I come pick it up? Assuming it's in good shape paint wise. My paint is peeling from my 92's maroon hood badly. Also drivers side rear quarter panel glass. I''m not calling dibs, just looking for your prices.

    Electrical Upgrade Questions

It's an AGM battery. Also Car Quest's AGM is under $200 and is a re-badged Deka if I'm not mistaken. Though I couldn't personally recommend it at the moment as I haven't done any research on this particular battery. Optima's quality has gone down the tube in the past few years, they aren't...

    Electrical Upgrade Questions

The Diehard Platinum battery from Sears is a re-badged $350 Odyssey for $200. Much better choice than an Optima IMO.

    Hilly Driving Preventative Maintenance

I don't think that is going to be in the budget for a while but once I have some more money I plan on doing lifters, rocker arms, injectors, intake manifold gaskets, and valve cover gasket. Until then though, I have done most of what you would suggest. I'll see about getting that header to Y...

    Hilly Driving Preventative Maintenance

Maybe something is causing a performance issue then? On these inclines I speak of (going west on I70 from Denver towards Idaho Springs), if I hold the gas pedal down just hard enough not to shift from 4-3 I will lose speed. Just that hair more gas pedal to downshift though, puts it in the 3k+...

    Hilly Driving Preventative Maintenance

I'm beginning to think nobody looks at the "Under the Hood" forum. :D So I will soon be driving back and forth for work, a distance of ~30 miles, with an elevation change of ~4k feet within that distance. What are some good preventative maintenance things I should be looking at? Motor will...

    Aftermarket Gauges

Thank you, good sir! I am contemplating an a pillar mount (Autometer) along with a transmission temp gauge. Possibly an aftermarket tranny cooler depending on my findings. I will soon be driving from 5k feet to 9k feet in a ~30 mile distance and want to make sure I don't kill my tranny going...

    Aftermarket Gauges

Wasn't sure where else to post this. My question is basically, what is the difference between a cheap aftermarket gauge from say Autozone compared to an expensive one? Accuracy?

Thank you for your opinion on the matter!

    Coil Pack Resistance Tolerance

It was at full running temp (30 mile drive) ~ 2 hours before I tested it. I don't remember it being any warmer than anything else I was touching. I know very little about anything relating to electricity. I have no clue if a 31% increase in resistance is a lot or not.
