If you want a good plastic repair/ filler, use this stuff called DuraMax (sounds like the name of a condom huh?) Its a 2 parts filler that is made for plastics and if I remember correctly, its flexible.

Once my stepbrother cross threaded an oil filter for a dodge dynasty onto his dads metro. it was funny cuz the one for the dynasty is 2x the size as the one for the metro. His excuse was that they were the same color..........

Thats not too bad. My AB instructor is colorblind and he was showing us how to colorsand back in the day and he grabbed the wrong spraybottle and started sanding. Dont wetsand with rust treatment, its not good for the clear..........:eek:

Well kinda. I took the factory grille, and cut out the middle of that. Then I laid the fb over the remaining frame, to cover the spots I cut off and to cover the grinder scratches from taking off the chrome. Then yes, I cut the new center out of 1/8 aluminum. Ill take some pics an how I fasten...

Damn this talk of roll pans always haunting me. Id like to yes, but I havent decided how much I want my hitch yet. Im tryin to figure out a custom setup, like mount the hitch behind the l.p. box of the pan so I could still put on the hitch if i needed it. I dunno..................

The clear is "the protectant" so to say. nothing else that goes on before it is hard enough to withstand the weather, rocks and other harmful things.

Im doin it myself. I graduated from LSC in auto body and this year I am going back for production shop, where you basically do you own thing. I painted it today, it doesnt look half bad. (it looks all bad) It needs a good color sanding and buffing. Sorry, no more pics of the girls yet...

Dont see why not. Did you put a clear over it or was it an enamel paint? Self etch can be purchased at any auto body store in either a spray can or in a quart for a gun.

OHH, I just graduated last year.

Yeah, the whole truck is gettin painted wednesday, including the grille itself, so it wont look all multi-colored :)

Touch up it no good. I guess what I would do is gind off all of the paint out to about a half an in around the area of rust, be sure to get every little bit of rust out, and the spray it with some rust treatment. Then depending on what you want to do (paint or not paint) at least get a spray can...
