Sounds like your engine is poo. I would get a raditor pressure tester and see if you find any pressure loss. If ya do then look for leaks, if no leaks are found then it has to be an internal leak. Good luck!

It sounds to me you have a mode door staying open from the outside of the vehicle and putting cold air to your feet. I would look to see if you can see the mode door for the defrost, vent, floor move all the way in each direction. Could be something loged in there keeping the door open.

Back to the orgional problem of hunting for o/d. You might want to make sure that your tv cable is adjusted properly and not binding or frayed. The tv cable is the throttle valve cable also known as the kick down cable. This cable will play havok on the shifts points. One more thing to check...

CoryL, I am with trckmagik run it. If you are burning coolant the worse than can happen you will make the inside of the cyl. really clean. Might just be from sitting and another reason that way if you do have to tear it down you might find another bug while driving it and can solve that...

If I rember right Ford used the same compresor on the 5.0 and the 4.0. I assume you are going to be using 134a. Might want to try to put the orgional Explorer compresor on the engine if it will fit. Eric
