no power antenna

2005 Explorer XLT, I recently installed a new head unit and can not get good reception. The antenna is plugged in as far as it will go into the new unit, but reception comes and goes. I couldn't find anything specific in the search for a direct answer to this. thanks for any help in advance.

i just actually found the plate holder today. still interested?

swapped out the clock spring and didn't change anything. my transfer case is not powering the front wheels, could that be the problem and it's sensing an irregular speed?

swapped out the control unit and still got the same erratic cruise control. any other ideas?

swapped out the u-joints for new ones. one was in terrible shape and the other looked fine, but replaced it anyway. Vibration is gone, thank god lol.

Mine is under acceleration. Yours seems like it may be brakes. When I let of the gas it does go away at least for a few seconds.

In the seat, but feels up front. Like said earlier it is hard to judge sometimes. I will replace the u joint as soon as schedules allow and post results.

any possibility a ball joint could cause all that vibration? pep boys called it a left rear ball joint/tie rod.

i saw the insulator fix, but i think it's a bigger problem then that. this week i will swap all 4 tires to see if that may be a culprit, not expecting it to be. i am also going to swap rear drive shaft and u-joint this week. i will definitely post my results once they are done. it's my GF's...

i will check that out for sure, as soon as i can next week. i should also add, all 4 wheel bearings are looking good. thle drivers rear was just replaced less than 2 months ago. it's all just odd, i don't think it is the tires unless it's a belt. which i can swap all 4 with another explorer...

you should add more info about vehicle, looking under your screen name people will assume this is about a 91 sport in the 2002-2005 section. it may be the ground wire on the transfer case or possibly a bad 4x4 module.
