    Wheel Locks

Great Jim.... Exactly the info I needed. ;) Oh, I came across this Note on one of the websites when I was searching for the 24010 part: "WHEN INSTALLING WHEEL LOCKS OR LUG NUTS, VERIFY CORRECT SEATING SURFACE STYLE AND THREAD SIZE. ALSO VERIFY THAT FASTENER HAS NOT BOTTOMED OUT ON WHEEL...

    Power Antenna removal??

Thanks for the help on this guys :) My '95 EB's antenna just broke too, and I was wondering how to gain access to check for any plastic in the motor housing. Must be that time of the year. I'll be picking up my new mast at the dealer this afternoon, so any additional tips would...

    Motorized Antenna Mast Question?

Whoops... I just now found the thread about the "Power" antenna. Sorry for the duplication. I looked for "Motorized" when I did my search before posting my question. I think all my questions are answered. Thanks again.

    Motorized Antenna Mast Question?

Thanks RiverRat, Sounds fairly easy. After I get access to the motor thru the wheel-well, do I just remove the three Phillips screws on the top of the fender to release the motor, or are there additional fasteners holding it in palce? DonL

    Motorized Antenna Mast Question?

The antenna mast on my '95 EB 4x4 decided not to extend or retract completely the other day. I removed the trim on the fender and unscrewed the nut holding the mast in the fender and found that the flexible plastic rod with the teeth on it seems to be broken near the bottom. Here's my...

    4WD Brake Problems?

Whoops..... :banghead: Sorry JasonF, TPLYNCH, and others. I didn't identify the setting correctly in my initial post. I was actually in the "4WD AUTO" setting on my switch vice 4W-High. I will check all of these things out when I get a chance. I really appreciate all the inputs. :)

    4WD Brake Problems?

Great explanation dogfriend. That's exactly what I wanted to know. :) I guess I'm just trying to eliminate a problem with the brakes as opposed to my "following to closely" when I had my bumper-bender. In my opinion, I was far enough back that I should have stopped in time if everything...

    4WD Brake Problems?

Thanks Jason.... It's my understanding that when you are in the 4WD AUTO Mode instead of the 2WD Mode, the computer will automatically switch you to 4WD, but only if necessary. I think it keeps you in 4WD until it senses the slippery conditions are gone, and then automatically switches...

    4WD Brake Problems?

Just checked my records, and I last had brake flush & service at 70KMiles. According to the current ODO, that's about 35KMiles ago. I did a quick visual on the resovoir and it lools to be at the correct level, and the fluid is clear. I tried pumping the pedal with the engine off, and then...

    4WD Brake Problems?

Thanks Guys, Good questions Rhett. I haven't had time to check my records yet, but I'm going to see the last time I had brake service. It was actually raining at the time TPLYNCH and I must assume the roads were pretty slick with oil & rubber residue. It felt like I was on ICE at the...

    4WD Brake Problems?

Had a minor bumper-bender a few weeks ago in the wet going about 35MPH in my '95 Edie Bauer. The guy in front of me was stopped dead in traffic. I pushed the pedal to the floor and felt SLIGHT pulsing in the pedal as if the anti-locks were trying to work, but I was not stopping! Hit the guy...

    bad fuel mileage..solved?

Well, after resetting the computer I'm still only getting around 15 MPG on the readout. Replaced the Air Filter a few weeks ago, and still no change. The only things I did before I noticed the change, was to put the new tires on, and replace the thermostat.

    bad fuel mileage..solved?

Thanks for the tip IRA, I reset my computer yesterday. I'm glad I did because the battery terminals were in need of some cleaning up with baking soda and a wire brush. Will let you know how the mileage turns out. ------------------ DonL '95 Eddie Bauer

    Firestone Wilderness AT in snow?

Hmmmm.... Got 60K miles out of my OEM Firestone Wilderness ATs on my '95 Explorer EB. Not too shabby. Switched to Dunlop Radial Rovers at the recommendations of a few folks. Haven't seen any change in noise or handling, but did notice my gas mileage went down, and the speedo reads 3-5 miles...

    Fuel mileage and Codes

My temp gage had been reading low for quite a long time accompanied by an occasional CHECK ENGINE light after climbing up to about 4,000 feet. I finally put 2 and 2 together and thought that I had a stuck open thermostat which I replaced. This fixed the gage problem, but now my Average fuel...
