Bad or Burnt Exhaust smell in cabin during hard acceleration.

I had the TSB done on my 2015 Explorer back in December 2015 (4 months ago) ... still get the smell inside the cabin. The dealer also got the black coating crap all over one of my polished tailpipes

    Popping/grinding in steering when turning

Hello - there is a TSB on this issue. I had it performed on my 2015 Explorer Sport and it still kind of does it every once in a while. Furthermore, my transmission started leaking after the TSB.... my explorer has 14k miles on it... shouldn't be happening.

Explorer Sport 2014 exhaust sound muffled after service

I wouldn't say it sounded anything like an AMG Mercedes, lol. But I did notice a difference between my 2013 Sport and my new 2015 Sport. Maybe it's a tuning thing. My 2013 did sounds "meaner" than my 2015 Sport does.

    Bought our second Sport

Originally we had a 2013 Explorer Sport, special ordered it Dec 2012 and took delivery Feb 2013. That Explorer died 12/8/2014 (RIP) but we loved it so much that we decided to go back to the Sport. I did look at everything else though, Audi Q7, BMW X5/X6 and even a 750Li, new GMC Yukon, etc...

    2013 Sport total loss...

The truck she hit was a '91 Nissan with paint in the back yes. Weather was not an issue at the time of the wreck. Note: This is not a "part out" thread. I did state pretty clearly that insurance did a total loss claim, and paid us out. You may want to check ebay or other sites for the parts...

    2013 Sport total loss...

So, my wife was involved in an accident 12/8/14 in our 2013 Sport. Car did very well at keeping her safe, she walked away with minor bruising on her arm from the airbag, and on her neck from the seatbelt. The initial estimate was $16k in repairs, but after digging deeper, the engine was...

Ford really does not care about "Quality is Job One"

All of my panels on my 2013 Sport line up great... and if I had some panel "sag" that didn't affect the functionality of the vehicle, I'd live with it... it's a Ford not an Audi or Range Rover

My 2013 Explorer Sport 17k review

So funny I tell my wife the same thing! The new Cayenne's look way to "soft". the 2008-10 MY are the best in my opinion as well. Sounds like your '08 stage 2 was a BEAST and I am sure you taught plenty of "capable" sports cars a lesson! :D

My 2013 Explorer Sport 17k review

Give me a ride in your 10 second buick and I'll tell ya! LOL jk I left the calipers on (lazy way), just hit em with some brake clean, let em dry and used the high temp caliper paint. The only chipping I noticed was a rear caliper, no problem, repainted it. ;)

Warning To All Ford Ecoboost Owners!

I have a '13 Sport, 17k miles. I drive it hard every once in a while, and only run 92 octane (highest I can get here...) and every once in a while I will run a bottle of octane boost through the tank. Car runs solid. The tailpipe soot is NORMAL. My Z06 has even more soot but that's probably...

14 Sport Oil Consumption and Stumble

Exhaust tips are dirty all the time when in town stop-n-go driving. When I'm on the freeway only the soot doesn't appear as much. The extra soot is just from having forced induction high compression engine, well high compression for being TT. 10:1 is the factory spec (most forced induction...

My 2013 Explorer Sport 17k review

I've noticed the more I drive the Sport, the quicker it feels. Oh and try the "Sand Mode" on the 4wd selector for some extra off the line get-up (if you haven't already). LOL I've driven older Porsche Cayenne turbos and those were pretty quick, but very heavy suckers LOL. the new Cayenne...

My 2013 Explorer Sport 17k review

So I've had my Explorer Sport since 2/28/2013 and have put 17,000 miles on it so far. The build quality has overall been excellent so far. Everything works just like the day I drove it home. The only upgrades I've done to it are 18% front window tint/5% over factory rear window tint, LED...

    Howling Noise

Oh I'm sure they'll fix it. I'm going to hold off til 10k miles though and have it . done when I take er in for service. I purchased a brand new car to avoid going to the dealer often for repairs for a few years...other than routine maintenence.. oh well

    Howling Noise

It's definitely the black plastic cowl at the bottom of the windshield. I placed a piece of masking tape along the bottom of the windshield where it connects to the black cowl, and took her all the way up to 100mph on the local air-strip. No noise whatsoever, or what a $46k vehicle "should"...

    Speechless

Unless KZerman purchased an extended warranty that covers those componets, it's not under warranty anymore. The factory-backed warranty is 3 years or 36,000, whichever occurs first. This guy has 39k miles on his 2011 so unfortunately it is not under the "factory" warranty any longer, if it...
