I recieved a mac air intake and I installed it last night, everything works properly and I'm very pleased with everything except the extra hole on the intake tube next to where the breather hose is, the 2001 sport trac doesn't have any use of it so they included a plastic plug to block it off...

That's a good point, but even with matte black rims do you think that would show very badly? And is it hard to get off?

Well because of all the great info everyone shared, I am now a proud owner of a Mac air intake :)

So i can basically make my own warm air intake with the adapter, cone filter and the stock intake tube for around 50 dollars or less (dirt cheap). I could get the MAC intake upgrade for 190 dollars with shipping which i cannot find any information on whatsoever, and that makes me a little...

Wouldnt the stock intake tube restrict the airflow? if so where could i just get the piping from another kit rather than buying the whole kit?

Johnny o, you said most 16x8 wheels won't ft on fords because of backspacing, does this mean 4.25 inches is too much?

Thanks everyone for the help, if I can find a set of 33's that fit on my stock rims I would much rather do that but most of the tires I looked at required at least 16x8 rims. Whatever I end up doing I will post pics when I get it finished :)

I have an old set of tires size 245/70/R16 and was wondering if I could fit them on my stock height 2001 ford sport trac without needing to do any trimming. I'm not sure if it matters but they will be mounted on the stock rims as well
