Drivers side power window will not go up

Might be the wires in the door boot or the switch. I bought a cheap switch and it did the same thing after about a month so make sure to replace with a OEM switch (used if you can because mine was like $180).

    ABS light (first time)

Mine came on more and more frequently until it finally stayed on. Never did anything though.

2003 Mercury Mountaineer v8 AWD MPG question

Changing my fuel filter gave me about 20% better MPG. (13-16). I get 20mpg on highway trips. Change your fuel filter. Not that bad to do it yourself either and only about $30.

    Price for rear wheel bearing

I called 4 shops when I got mine done. Highest was $650, lowest was $550. Prices are after tax. Part is close to $300 and 2 hrs labor everywhere I called. You can lower the price by ~120-150 if you get a low quality bearing but I don't think that's worth it. Edit: prices in AB, CAD

It is your compass, indicates cardinal direction you are traveling. If it isn't working properly you can re-calibrate it.

    sudden decrease in mpg

Fuel filter can definitely be the problem, but likely would be over time rather than sudden. When I got my X it was using about 18L/100km, I changed plugs, cleaned everything, etc. Ended up at about 17.6. Changed my fuel filter and went to about 14L/100km. That is a gain of over 2MPG!

Gas Mileage Drop after fuel filter???

When I changed my fuel filter I went from 12mpg to 15mpg mixed so I would give everyone the opposite advice.

access to relays behind fuse box 2002

I couldn't figure out how to get it out so I just laid on my back and shoved my hand up there, removed by feel. Getting them back in is much harder but after a few tries I got it. If you are just removing to test, I suggest pulling them up but not taking all the way out, that way you can just...

Is it possible to have lights flash instead of horn beep on remote lock

Unfortunately I do not have a solution for you, but I wanted to post because horn beeps after locking are my pet peeve. I don't know if everyone is OCD or incredibly uninformed and thinks you need to hear it beep but at least 90% of the time I see someone exit their car they click the thing...

Rear defrost turns on and off by itself!

Reprogrammed remote and it works again. Rear defrost still turning on and off. Should I check the passenger side boot next?

Rear defrost turns on and off by itself!

Just a quick update. Yesterday my remote lock/unlock stopped working. Not sure if that is somehow related or I just need a new battery. Anyways I removed the door panel and checked the wiring in the rubber boot as suggested. Sadly, after a thorough search I found no problems with any of the...

Rear defrost turns on and off by itself!

Sounds like the place to start. With the warmer weather it didn't do it yesterday, but I will pull it apart this weekend anyway.

Rear defrost turns on and off by itself!

Yes I do. Both the rear defrost and heated mirrors have worked perfectly until now.

Rear defrost turns on and off by itself!

Hi guys, I am having a new issue with my 2002 V8 Explorer. Yesterday and today I hear a click (sounds like a relay) and then my defrost turns on/off. It can happen every 5 minutes or 20 times in 1 minute. Super annoying! Would this be a fuse/relay that is semi-blown? Perhaps a wiring issue...

    2002 Mountaineer Steering Issue

Premature wheel lockup caused by broken sway bar links? Probably not but so easy to check you may as well take a look.

Hope you have luck in your search. Maybe they are more common here in Canada but I see them on Kijiji (a site like Craigslist) all the time with this setup.

    2nd row seat swap

2003 and up 2003 and up have the shoulder belt. Take a look at the third pic on this page: http://www.precisionfit.com/catalog/Ford/Ford-Explorer/Explorer--4-Door-/2003?category_id=6168 Edit: I can confirm they are 40/20/40 as well. Additionally, I think from 2004 up they also had...

Would XLT/XLS tires fit on a Eddie Bauer?

Hello everyone, I recently purchased a 2002 Eddie Bauer explorer, but it came with some really loud mud tires. I found a set of 5 used tires on stock rims from a XLT. I know the sizes are different (235/70r16 vs 245/70r16) but wondered if I could still use them. The set of 5 stock rims...
