ever so lite front end contact...adaptive cruise no longer works...

So i made very minor contact with a foot tall concrete parking lot barrier, with the front of my 2014 sport. there is no physical damage to the front of the car, just had to clip the grill over the intercooler back in place (may have pushed the lower black plastic in a inch or so in the...

    Cross-wind "floating"

my sport caught me off guard first time i had it in a cross wind. i came from a rav 4, and this thing is a tank compared to it in all areas except a cross wind.

    Rattle - help!

i found my squeak, but only after it got louder such that i could pin point where it was coming from. turns out one of the quick clips holding the plastic cover on the inside of the rear hatch had somehow released. one good tap in the right spot and its seated and squeak free again. it...

    Rattle - help!

my 2014 sport with 12,000 k on it has developed a maddening chirp/squeak coming from somewhere behind me, likely to the right. I've hit, shook everything inside i can to find it, removed and put back the spare tire and jack...nothing. its almost constantly chirping with every expansion joint...

Installing or Programming Daytime Running lights (DRL)

Pretty sure its about whats under the hood not whats on it lol. If you drove where i do in northern Alberta, you would have a hood deflector as well. plus, people get to see the sport emblem when I'm pulling away from them at stop lights.

Installing or Programming Daytime Running lights (DRL)

i think it allows you to run with all exterior and interior lighting off.

Installing or Programming Daytime Running lights (DRL)

DRL reprogramming to install hid's in the sport - heres what i did. So after having no luck getting a dealer to reprogram my drl's, i decided to take the plunge and pick up one of the clone vcm2's from china. i picked the seller that had the best rating and pulled the trigger. a few weeks...

    Explorer Navigation Tracking Problem

Same here. its been almost a month now and my nav has been deadly accurate ever since the day i towed a trailer from ft mac to edmonton. I'm happy that its working now, but to suddenly start working after months of uselessness just does not sit well.

    Explorer Navigation Tracking Problem

i don't know why, but after 3 months of pretty much completely useless nav, mine started working fine the day i towed a trailer for the first time. I've spent the last week on both winter and summer tires, using it for almost every trip big and small, and it has not lost tracking once.

Mud Flaps / Splash Guards / DIY Pics

my understanding is the rears involve drilling a hole and the fronts do not. for what ever reason the dealer only installed the rears on mine, so i have the fronts in the car now to install myself as soon as it dries up.

    Explorer Navigation Tracking Problem

i have a half dozen pics on my phone of the exact same thing, putting me off into a mall or a park next to where i live (almost every time with the park...a good test of the system) when Im driving next to them. Question for you. Do you keep an iPhone plugged into the usb port in your car? I...

    Explorer Navigation Tracking Problem

I have to chime in on this thread. I'm 6000 km into a 2014 sport. I've had winters on it since I drove it off the lot before Christmas, 245r6018's which I believe are 1.6% smaller diameter than the stock 20's. I knew from day one that my gps was a little "special" lol but since moving to a...

What is a hidden/not obvious feature of your Explorer that you love

i did not know this as well. Sure i would have discovered this eventually once we get out of winters dark grip and had a need for the feature lol.

    I Lost my P

Two months in, and parts are starting to fall off my sport lol. wonder is the dealer going to scratch his head when i go looking for a letter.

The Good and Bad, After a week with my '14 Sport

I also hate the headlights on my new sport, and I also agree with one comment about them firing a lot of light at signage down the road. They just do not light up the road surface like you would expect. I've swapped the bulbs until it gets warmer, at which point she is getting the lights...

    Block Heater

6 hours to install a block heater? thats madness and about 5 hours to much. at 180 bucks an hour that would be almost 1100 bucks in labor alone here in mac...for a simple block heater lol.

    Block Heater

Of all things to forget to install on a car up here. This should be taken care of promptly and free. good thing is, its usually not a big deal to install the things. pop out a frost plug and pop in the block heater.

    Block Heater

One thing to note though, the cable was thick enough I did not want to slam the good down on it, so I had to leave it just partially hooked, and like this the remote start will not function. Have to sort something out so the plug is accessible with the good closed. That's a job for a time...

    Block Heater

Mine was close to that as well, you should see the round plug clipped somewhere on the front of the motor area. I took a pic but these forums will not allow me to post it from my phone.

    Block Heater

I found mine last night. It's clipped up near the yellow oil cap. Look around that area and you will see a cord that can be in clipped. My exp barely started last evening without it and it's colder today eh.

First weekend with the new sport - thoughts and observations.

After picking up my new '14 exp sport Thursday, I set off on a 1300km road trip over the weekend. Here are a few thoughts. (Note this is with winter tires on). First off, Over all I am quite happy with the vehicle. I traded in an 09 Toyota rav4 v6 limited, which was a quick scoot for an...
