Hi Everyone! We have owned our 2014 Explorer Sport (3.5L Ecoboost V6) since new. It currently has 172,000 kilometres on it. A few years ago, when it had 40,000 kilometres, my wife had a collision with a deer. Although the damage appeared minor, it ended up costing our insurance around $14,000...

Does anyone know how far back this issue goes? We received our 14' Sport from factory in October.

They must be sending them all to the other provinces. We have been told no SUV or Car Interceptors, just Tahoes (We are waiting for 2 Tahoes and 2 F-150s at our detachment right now. All of our traffic units have been getting Tahoes too.

I would think you could fabricate one out of aluminum. The gas-shock setup that helps raise the plate may be hard to match, though... but if the plate is way lighter then you wouldn't need the gas-shocks.

On our 14' sport, you can push the button either on the left or the right.... Pushing it on the right side makes the dash lights go up (pushing it multiple times makes the dash lights keep turning up) whereas HOLDING it down makes the interior lights all come on. Pushing it on the left...

Ours works the same as StarGirl stated above. The only issue we have, is that ours changes back to blue at random points in time (when my wife has it saved as pink to her saved driver settings, and I have it saved as orange for mine).

I just threw mine on the scale for you. Entire third row seat unit is 85 pounds. I posted pictures above of what mine looks like with the third row replaced with a Havis cargo plate. (Sorry for the large pics, didn't realize they would post that big). Matt

They said 3 days for the parts, 6 hours for the install. I'm not sure how long "approval from Ford" will take, though. Supposed to warm up to -8c this week luckily.

Just went to the nearest Ford dealership and they confirmed that Ford forgot to install a block heater at factory..... uugghhh..... Now we have to wait until Monday for our dealer to contact Ford and figure out how to solve this. Guess the poor Explorer gets to brave the -40 temps this...

Yep, it's official. I think they forgot my block heater. I removed the ecoboost cover to get a better view. There is no plug anywhere around the oil cap (just a clip with no wire in it)

Brrrr.... please help! It's -40c here right now, and I can't find the block heater plugin on our 14' Sport (ecoboost v6). I've found some other threads on here about this same issue, but the pictures all seem to show different engine models, but not the ecoboost. Found the one on my 13'...

Thanks for posting that. Is that from your 13' Explorer? Or your Sport (do you have your Sport yet? I thought you had mentioned you had ordered one?). The engine compartment looks totally different on ours (ie; we have no hose running next to the washer fluid reservoir like yours has)...

Thanks for the advice :) I'm going to use a pipe clamp for sure.... with the -40c temperatures here right now, a zip strap wouldn't last too long. We are going to get the entire back line-x'd.... floor, and side panels. Otherwise it will be too slippery for the dogs.

I'm having the same dilemma!!! Did you find it?? If so let me know where.. I'm starting to think they forgot to install it haha
