2010 Explorer XLT - How to Remove Antenna?

Can the splash well be removed with the wheel on? You can get some good clearance with the wheel turned either way.... BTW I had this happen to me too... What the crap

    Antenna Mount Hole

Hello fellow Explorers. I believe I had a hollow aftermarket antenna break off in the socket. Can someone send me or post a picture of the socket on theirs? I am trying to compare. I cant see any threads and that's why I think I am looking at the inside of the antenna not the socket. No...

    AC Compressor is toast

Maybe! On another post it was discovered finding just the clutch is pretty much impossible. You have to buy the whole unit.

On second new Gates idler pulley and still chirps!

Yeah. What strikes me is how close they are though. I feel like an inside outside difference would be bigger than that

    I can’t fill my car

Sounds like something is pressuring for some reason...

On second new Gates idler pulley and still chirps!

That’s interesting that all the aftermarket ones have a larger circumference on the outside. Might have something to do with why aftermarket ones chirped.

On second new Gates idler pulley and still chirps!

I had this issue. A belt and tensioner was the KO punch. However, I did this using non motor craft parts the first time and it didn’t fix it. I used OEM on the second try and it fixed it. Starting to feel like aftermarket belt parts are a no go on the 4L SOHC.

    Comparing fuel milages

That’s crazy. I get about 19-20 hwy and 15 city. Those sites are full of crap. The sticker rating is right about what I get

Welding near the tailgate hinges looks weird

Do you see ripples on the roof in the metal up by the A posts in front? If not you are more likely than not totally fine. Any “major” rear end collision would leave ripples up front on these trucks.

    Opinion - Timing Chain Replacement (2007 4.0L)

I would consider rebuilding it at least partially. Do the head gaskets with it out and stuff.

    Disable TPMS?

I drove about 1000 feet in my 1997 one morning because I didn’t realize I had a flat from over night. Can’t do that with my 2010 lol

2010 Explorer Front Bumper Rattling Loose at Fenders

Yeah that screw is all tight and good. The bracket looks like new(it is new). Definitely not worn or broken.

2010 Explorer Front Bumper Rattling Loose at Fenders

The clips are good. Everything looks like new. They were both just replaced. Am like 5 seconds from gorilla gluing them. This has been going on for 9 months now and I’ve had it haha. I feel this is the dumbest design ever.

Solved A/C compressor clutch issue. 2006 with a 4.0L engine.

Just looked at rock auto and I don’t see a clutch only.

2010 Explorer Front Bumper Rattling Loose at Fenders

My 2010 Explorer has an odd issue with the front bumper. In the corners the bumper slides out of the grooves and falls down a bit. The entire bumper was replaced as a result along with all the mounting hardware. It happens more over time from vibration and happens quicker on bumpy roads. I...

    Transmission problems commonality?

The v8 tranny’s are way more solid in any year. 2009 and 10s were the best for both the V6 and v8 though. Maitenence doesnt seem to matter. Stay away from 2005s gen 3 explorers are the low point for reliability in other areas.
