Any luck on the driveshaft rebalance? I'm fighting the same issue. Rear vibration at 60 mph+ New U-joints and tires with no difference. 97 Sport 4x4 5-speed. Gear shift shakes like crazy.

I put a new A/C compressor on it. It still blows cold but hot start ups the compressor grinds and cycles off and on a number of times. Once it gets running its stays on and is cold.

Is the sensor to turn the lights off and on in the transfer case motor or elsewhere on the transfer case?

I was lucky enough to have it snow just after I bought mine and I took it out and spun the rear tires slightly. A very faint thud was felt and the truck starting taking off like it was in 4wd. It seems to work pretty good but hopefully we'll get some good storms this year to really try it out.

I've had an issue with mine doing that. I'm not sure why but simply revving the engine engages it and it starts blowing cold again.

Yea the last compressor I put in actually worked good and it was cold but it sounded like a bad bearing and was actually vibrating really bad too.

I have somehow ruined two Air conditioning Compressors in my quest for cold air. I've added PAG 46 oil to both and evacuated the system when I installed the second one. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong.

I run Mobil one 15W50 synthetic in my Mustang. I like the Motorcraft if the Explorer but I really hate that I can't get it in the 5 quart jug. That alone might make me switch. That Walmart Synthetic 5w30 is looking pretty good.

My 97 has the OHV and I love it. My dad has a 99 Ranger with the OHV motor and it has 231,000 miles on it and still going strong.

Make sure you are stopped with your foot on the brake and transmission in neutral when switching to 4 Low. Otherwise it will not make the shift.

Oh ok I never noticed the speed of the ding. Yea I agree I doubt its the headlight switch but I need to replace it anyways. I'll start pulling fuses to see what turns it off while the door is open.

It sounds like the normal "left yoiur keys in the ignition" or "left the lights on" anytime the drivers door is open

The lock cylinder and ingnitioin module are new with no help. Vehicle still dings anytime the door is open. Next on the agenda is the headlight switch. I will keep you updated.

My 1997 Explorer Sport is sagging in the rear and it feels slightly unstable with 3-4 passengers in it. What is the best leaf spring to get for it to raise it and even it out with the front? It on has one leaf on each side.

I tried wiggling it and that hasn't helped. The ignition switch is only about two months old. I will try unplugging the headlight switch to see if that helps.

I know it's small but I need the two bolts that hold in the headlight switch.

Likely the rubber o-ring gaskets between the upper and lower intake.
