    Transmission leaking with photos

is it leaving puddles? Or just dots? ALL cars develop leaks. I dont care what brand, miles, or year built. Gaskets rot and leak. Looks like it *COULD* be the transmission pan gasket. Which is very easy to replace.

    Strange Wire

Well both motors are SOHC soooo haha Anything is possible. Do you have an OBDII scanner? A $20 bluetooth OBDII device and the $5 Forscan app will show and tell all sorts for any Ford.

03 when driving vibration from 50-70 and When let off gas issue

My diff whines like crazy and has a pretty good vibration when at partial throttle which neutrals the torque in the diff as it is neither being driven by the engine or driving the engine. Every time I let off and get on the gas when on the highway I get the vibration and loud gear noise as the...

    Strange Wire

Let the car run without the MAF and go for a short drive. If it wont run with the MAF then most likely the MAF is faulty. ECUs use the MAF as the #1 reference for fuel. Without it present it defaults to throttle, MAP, O2s

    Strange Wire

Junk yard will be perfectly fine. Capacitors last decades and usually only fall out of spec for high tolerance applications. The junk yard near me is filled with 3rd gen explorers. A few 2nd & 4th but just littered with 3rd gens. Stupid easy to find anything you need.

    Strange Wire

It's to reduce noise for everything in the electrical system. It would be best to grab another one or simply install a common electronics capacitor in its place. The noise emitted can interfere with every computer in the car. (which is a lot of computers!)

    Strange Wire

Capacitive noise isolator. Should be on the front of the intake. It's to suppress the EMI noise that the coils & injectors produce...

Headlight bulb recommendations? 9006 vs 9012 vs LEDs vs HIDs

Do everyone else a favor, especially concerning THEIR safety. STAY STOCK. When you install aftermarket (illegal) bulbs they are brighter than they should be, unfiltered, and a harsh color temperature. All this adds up to you blinding other drivers because of the illegal lights in your vehicle...

    Remote start options.

2005 engine cut off on sharp turn

This may help but the tank & pump are designed to run to empty. The tank has a raised spiral pattern to trap fuel at the pump inlet and the pump usually have a small bypass that keeps a jacket around the pump full so when it does suck in air it will just pull from this jacket to compensate...

    Tricky Front End Heat Question

specially the heater core. Also, make sure there is significantly less airflow at 90* vs 60*. 60* is full heater core bypass and evap only which is low static against the blower and thus plenty of airflow. 90* is full heater core and evap core which is high static against the blower and far...

Help!! Control arm /end link bushing failure

for hubs, usually Timken & SKF & Motocraft & NAPA will be the same hub. (There is no way to justify the cost of so many different plants to make bearing for 3rd gen ford explorers). They used to be USA, then Canada, then Korea, and now India last I saw. The USA, Canada, and Korea bearing looked...

    EBC Brake Pads

If you want great grip and stopping power you're gonna have dust. Semi-metallics will provide the best stopping power and keep the rotors in good shape. Ceramics are harder than rotors and any bit of debris ruin the ceramic pads and then in turn ruin the rotors. Source: ran ceramics on cars...

Help!! Control arm /end link bushing failure

How tight are you making them and are you spraying them with oil? They should only be snug. As in slightly squish the bushing when tightening. Do not spray them with oil. It degrades the rubber. A dry film spray or silicone spray would be appropriate.

Ac is cold out of some vents but warm air out of others.

It's low on refrigerant. The liquid comes in on the drives side and the gas leaves on the passenger side. When it's low only the drive side is cold. You have a leak somewhere that needs to be fixed. Common areas are high pressure hoses, schrader cores & caps, evaporator, or condenser.

    Not-even-mortally-wounded rattle

Don't discount a pressure switch failing. We just picked up a generator for cheap and it had a failed pressure switch. Also, bad news: Ford has a minimum spec of 15psi at idle and these switches are only 5psi. (thank you retards, I mean ford) So the fact that it has in the past and still...

    P0303 + P0316: Cylinder 3 Three Misfire Detected

Really only need to do one at a time. I've done 3 in 5 years from 60k to 105k miles. Want good for cheap? Go to advance auto online, pick out the BWD non p series coil and use RMN25 plus any speedperks. Made in Poland, high quality, and pretty cheap considering.

Motorcraft COP Coil Packs vs cheaper Offbrand

people with old beaters seem to love em/ Go to amazon and read the reviews. They most likely do not meet any standards regarding consistency, EMF radiation, field break down, etc... But, if it ain't worth throwing money or ain't long for life, why not?

    Valve replacement

spray brake cleaner in each port to see if the valves leak. That's what a machinist did to show our valves weren't sealing before and after a rebuild they didn't leak brake cleaner. (very thin liquid with strong wicking)
