Interesting write up I found for relocating the 8.8 tone ring to the output yoke of a transfer case. For those who are interested in swaping in a non VSS axle in place of the 8.8 but want to keep the speedo/odometer, ABS, cruise control, EEC, etc...
Yea and I worry how long the clutch will last in LS mode. I havent got prices yet. Where did you get the eaton from? Let us know how the Elocker install and performance works out.
Another electric locker. Looks like the new Eaton E-locker combined with an Auburn LS and more.........

They have 28/31 spline 8.8 apps already
Really Cool!
What shock valving did you use? What spring rate lbs/in are your coils?
Think you need front sway bar or no? Hows it brake?
The rear looks stiffer than the front now.
Giant man! I think you could fit two 8.8 centers in it. I saw a FF one under a superduty over the weekend. Hrmm SD axles under a explorer... heh Would be cheaper than the a 8.8 kit and much more beefy. Would have to cut it down for get some big mud flaps. Dreaming again...
Im not familiar with the 10.5 yet. Hrmm I believe AA recomends the 3.8 for autos. But if you say the 4.3 will work and wont cause any problems I dont see why not.
Josh,
Nope just saving for a locked HP 44 and Atlas II 3.8.
Cory,
I know im off topic but just out of curiosity.... are there any SF or FF D60s out there with the VSS sensor and tone ring?
37 ok bingo too big...... I think $800 should be stashed into the SFA or AtlasII fund. From what ive read the clutch in the BW4405 tcase doesnt really grip initially with larger tires.
Ditch the coil overs, Warn axles, CTMs, new knuckles, etc....... youd save over $2k Its the small parts that add up. The least cost just do this.

Youd just need to cut down a used housing from 78-79 instead of the low...
HOW THEY WORK
THe double beadlock rims work like this. It is essentially a sprint car wheel that bolts together in two separate halves, the shells are stamped DOT approved and USA6X6 is DOT certified to produce rims... they are street legal.
The Shell is a standard truck shell cut in two...

Here is a video of axle wrap!
http://www.emotoman.com/videos/axlewrapwebsize.mpg
What ive read is a traction bar would resolve the problem. Something like this would work.

Shaved,retubed,9" ends, warn 9" floater kit,trussed.....
http://www.code4x4.com/projects/axle_88/axle_88.html
I didnt know 8.8 tubes were only .188 wall and one could shave off so much!. Probably costly build but interesting nonetheless.......
If your not going to change your gears at least get a transmission cooler to try and pro long your tranny life. Bigger tires without the proper gear change = more heat. Heat is the enemy of the auto.
Kinna off topic but couldnt you use big bearing 9" ends on the 8.8. $90
Then use warn FF kit for the 9" with solid drive flanges and custom FF 8.8 axle shafts? Need to figure out how to adapt the disk brakes..... no?
The 1350 yoke and MW bearing caps would finish it off.
$$$$

When the winch is mounted where does the roller fairlead point out of? In between the hoop or under it through a cut in the diamond plate? Im trying to get a visual idea?
