Ok. I bled it, as was suggested, and the problem seems to have gone away. Very interesting lesson. As I said before, I did have to bleed my mountaineer once, but I never experienced as much shuddering with it. But Thanks so much!!!! I believe the problem is solved!!

I got it on and it works! what tripped me up was how the clip attached to the latch. I finally figured it out by looking at the other clips on the rods. I didn't know when it clipped together it formed a point that went into the handle! Thanks so much everyone. Now I hope I can get the...

I just am not getting how that clip works with the hanging rod

got the part actually got two of them ( i have a bad back door too) about $4 each. Now to try and figure out how it goes on the rod. my rod is just hanging there. I don't even see where it was. It looks like the same clip that attaches the right and left latch rods
