    OK I got the replacement. and of course now my freaking door wouldn't open. The latch is rusted out and sometimes the inside linkage aligns sometimes it don't (or whatever it is) from the inside? I suppose I will have to take it apart. Anyway. now I have to get someone who has a big enough...

    2000 for explorer Eddie Bauer. I slid off my friend's narrow driveway into a small tree that was big enough to mess up my reardoor. or hatchback or tailgate. I don't know the proper name. I am trying to find a replacement. my question is; For what years are the parts interchangeable?

    Ok. I bled it, as was suggested, and the problem seems to have gone away. Very interesting lesson. As I said before, I did have to bleed my mountaineer once, but I never experienced as much shuddering with it. But Thanks so much!!!! I believe the problem is solved!!

    My OD off is flashing. pressing the button doesn't stop it but it does seem to make it shift. My tranny seems to be functiong. I check the fluid and it looks good. Not low and pink. Anyone know about this?

    got the part actually got two of them ( i have a bad back door too) about $4 each. Now to try and figure out how it goes on the rod. my rod is just hanging there. I don't even see where it was. It looks like the same clip that attaches the right and left latch rods

    Thank you so much. I really appreciate all of your help!!! so that rod attaches to the handle via the yellow clip. does it go into both the holes on the handle or just one? I did post a link to a diagram from ford. clicking the diagram blows up the view a bit.
