    2003 Explorer not blowing heat

Sounds like a possible clogged heater core to me. Just because the heater hoses are hot doesn't mean that coolant is flowing through the core. Try flushing the heater core and see if that works.

    Ford Sport Trac timing problems

No I did not remove the head but there is a clearance issue. The head sits a little forward on the block. I ended up breaking the cassette to get it out and used a die grinder to remove a little bit of material from the head to get the added clearance I needed to get the new cassette in.

    Ford Sport Trac timing problems

TJSport is correct, the driver's side chain does not require engine removal only the passenger side chain that is in the rear. I just did all the chains on my 04 Explorer last week. I changed both front and rear cassettes, jack chain and balance chain(only on 4x4 models), I also changed water...

    Front Heater Core Noise

Check the coolant level. Low coolant will cause this problem.

Code U2023 3rd Gen Ford Explorer

Yes that way you can get information from all the modules not just the engine control module.

clutch grinding when pressed, in any gear etc

Sounds like throwout bearing to me. Maybe pilot bearing in the end of the crankshaft. Does it shift OK? If it does it is not the transmission.

Code U2023 3rd Gen Ford Explorer

You can ignore the P1000 code. That is just an information code saying that all monitors have not been run since the computer memory was cleared. The U2023 definition says that incorrect information was received from another module. U-codes are not easy to track down. Code needs to be active to...

    2005 5r55s trans removal

The answer to your first question is yes you do need to remove the front pipe. The answer to your second question is also yes but you are better off disconnecting the individual connectors from the trans since you will have to do that anyway. Helpful hint check the connector for the solenoids to...

    Drivers side coolant leak?

After looking at the picture again and rereading what you wrote I admit I was wrong and Swshawaii is right. That line is an a/c line and the oil in the system could have a green to yellow color especially if leak detection dye has been added to the system. The line is 100% not a coolant line. If...

    Air Bag issue on 04

I'd say it is a coincidence that it started after spraying the seat belt buckle. Code 42 deals with the front impact sensor.

    Drivers side coolant leak?

I believe the hose you are pointing to is the power steering return line going to the cooler in front of radiator.

Can Clogged Cats Cause 171 174?

I agree with koda2000 I would look at fuel pressure. If fuel pressure is low it would explain the lack of power and the lean codes. Do you have the ability tom look at freeze frame data to see under what conditions it is throwing the codes?

Can I borrow your ears? Engine noise (video)

I agree check the timing chains. Might also want to check the rest of the valve train as well.

    transmission wont lock in park

Because the shift lever spun all the way around I'd have ton say that the linkage to the park pawl either disengaged or broke. You will need to drop the transmission pan and check the linkage rod going to the tail of the trans.

Intermittent "WOOOOO" noise from under hood.

The noise is caused by the air resonating in the intake tract. Can usually be corrected by replacing the IAC valve.

What Causes Battery Light to Come On

I would make sure that the battery is being charged. If it is check the connection of single wire connector at the alt. wire color is white with black tracer. If that connection is poor the alt. will still charge but the battery light on the dash will be lit. Very common problem on all Fords...

What Did You Do To Your 3rd Gen Today?

Shifts better than it did new. As for cost I haven't added everything up but probably didn't save much over buying a rebuilt unit after buying the tools to do it.

What Did You Do To Your 3rd Gen Today?

Rebuilt my transmission a couple weeks ago. Installed superior shift correct kit along with new servo pistons and bore sleeves and forward clutch piston. Snap ring for forward ring gear was broken. Also installed Trick Flow's deep pan with dipstick (love the dipstick) and remote filter. And...

    Check engine light (explorer 2008)

Check fuse #42 in the underhood fuse box. If that fuse is blown or has no power it will cause all those codes. FYI the O2 sensor codes that are setting refer to the heater built into them to help them reach operating temperature sooner. Voltage readings sent to the PCM will be mostly unaffected.

Is My Fuel Pump Going Bad

I agree fuel pump is bad. To answer your question as to which pattern is bad it's both patterns look bad.

Sounds to me like the flasher is failing

2010 Sport Trac Adrenalin Won't Start After Cluster Swap

The instrument cluster is actually a computer module in the truck and a component of the PATS system. Your truck is not starting due to your replacement cluster not recognizing the PATS code. Ford dealer or perhaps an independent garage with the right equipment should be able to reprogram it for...

    '04 XLT power windows

First I would look for a broken wire in the door jamb on the driver's door. If all that looks good I'd say the likely cause would be the master window switch.

    Wierd electrical/ignition/starter/problem

While I think some if not all bench testers can check starter draw it would be more accurate to do an in car test. Since the positive terminal is getting warm to the touch the system is definitely drawing to much. New starter may be bad, wouldn't be the first time I've seen it happen, or...

Lean code and fuel trims... What do they mean?

It's a good bet that 2000StreetRod is right about it being the intake gaskets. If you are getting lean exhaust codes look at the freeze frame data with a scan tool and you'll probably see that the code is setting at idle speed. Easiest way to know where the leak is is to use a smoke machine on...
