Mingram97, I just did my tensioner {twice , new one was bad so i put the old back in , {go figure , tiawan parts being bad rattled like a diesel motor} last weekend , its a pain getting it to go in straight with the limited room you have for your fingers for sure , dab just alittle grease around...

Absolutely agree with you david , ive read so much about these things my head hurts ! Its HIT or MISS when you want to replace JUST the tensioners and not get into the cassettes .. In My case the tensioner i put in was either stuck all the way in or all the way out , one of the 2 , rattled...

Removed the "Defective New Tensioner" reinstalled the "Old" tensioner and like magic , there is ZERO noise..... So much for Preventive Maint. word to the wise , "if its NOT broke DONT fix it" Especially using these aftermarket crap auto parts stores :thumbsup: Thank to the 125 people that...

Thanks , i'm going to take it back apart tomorrow and order the 2 tensioners from the ford dealer like I should have done in the first place ... The noise is just so distinct now , where it was just startup rattle before the replacment ,I don't know if i should let it run and see if it fades and...

Suggestion Number 1 DONT start it up until you know where the leak is coming from , thats alot of explosive gas from your description :eek: either that or pay up your life and car insurance

You can NOT know when this happened , it could very well have been during transport..and since you accepted delivery of the Truck , how is the dealer supposed to be responsible for it now ?? Dont mean to sound so negitive but put yourself in they're position , thats WHY you inspect and accept...

Mines made by A.R.E , i searched around here in florida at afew places , highest quote was $400 , but macco came in at just $125 so i had to go with that ..... they said they recently painted a full size topper for $250 and since mines 1/2 the size they said $125 :thumbsup:

picked up my "RED" topper today from the paint shop , they matched the color of my Trac perfectly , and for only $125 , red to silver .. Anyone in Florida need a "like New" factory Tonneau Cover ??
