    Rear Door Speaker Holes

The prior owner of my 2015 PIU did the speaker covers and let me tell you, it looked GHETTO. Everyone who rode in the back of my Explorer always commented on my 1980's speakers. lol. Hence why I swapped to the civi door panels which was a cheap upgrade.

    Rear Door Speaker Holes

I replaced my rear door panels with retail versions.

How hard is it to find a used PIU Ecoboost?

My 2015 was a Ford QA vehicle and has just about every option, except for the carpeted interior. - PTU EVOC / Track Cooler Option - Rear AUX A/C - Ready for the Road Lighting Package w/ Siren and Auto Headlamps - Cloth Rear Seats - Factory Alloy Wheel Car (though I upgraded to 20" Explorer...

    2015 Explorer PIU Suspension Noise

I have not. The noise is pretty minor at this point. I suspect it's the upper strut mount/bearing that's causing the noise. It has that hollow sounding thud which reminds me of bad strut mounts in the past. If you replace, get the newest version of the strut mount. There's a thread on here...

    2015 Explorer PIU Suspension Noise

It's not under bumper to bumper warranty. The 3 year warranty expired in April.

    2015 Explorer PIU Suspension Noise

My 2015 Explorer Interceptor Ecoboost has started to make a hollow sounding thud going over sudden bumps in the road, mostly on the drivers side. I did a quick check of the sway bar links and pried on the bushings, but everything seemed tight. I can see in the rear lower control arm bushings...

Longshot... Wanted Amber Pieces from PI Headlight Assy.

Not all PIU's have those headlights. I believe it has to have a front lighting option or provision to get those.

Mud Flaps / Splash Guards / DIY Pics

I got the OEM Ford splash guards. I just installed them, so I don't need the instructions. Wasn't too bad and they fit pretty good.

Mud Flaps / Splash Guards / DIY Pics

Hello, Does anyone have the install instructions for the splashguards which someone could post or possibly email/PM me? I got a set of splash guards, but they did not include the install instructions. Thanks!

    2013 interceptor utility brake issue

Good luck in finding a solution. I cannot provide you in additional input. I've given you very solid advice, but sitting here doing a back and forth isn't going to help anything. Just a tip - a body shop doesn't mean they are suspension or mechanical experts.

    2013 interceptor utility brake issue

Who are you asking? Me? If so, I've been giving you advice based on that alignment sheet, so yes, I looked at it. Have you looked at my responses? Take your vehicle to a shop with good Yelp reviews that only does suspension work and alignments. Not some chain store, but a purpose built shop...

    2013 interceptor utility brake issue

Again, as I mentioned earlier, a vehicle will pull towards the side with the least positive caster. When you brake hard, it compresses the suspension and that does affect the geometry a bit. I can't believe so many parts were replaced on your vehicles with ZERO diagnosis, unless you were...

2014 Explorer base model radio upgrade

Go with an S160 Android head unit. It's plug and play on the base models (I installed it in a 2015 Police Utility). I've had mine for a year and it's worked better than I expected.

    Aftermarket Tail Light Options

If you look at the lights, the three small rectangular embedded lights are the brake / turn signal lamps. They are quite bright and include an integrated resistor to prevent hyper flashing. The light tubes are used for the running lights. I'd say they could hug the body a bit better. You...

    Aftermarket Tail Light Options

Installed. Decent quality, fit isn't 100% but it's not bad. Plug and play on my PIU.

    Aftermarket Tail Light Options

I bought a set of the red ones and they'll be delivered today. Unsure if they'll work on my PIU but I'll post my findings during the next few days when I get a chance to install them.

    2013 interceptor utility brake issue

Repair prices are subjective and based on market, the shop and their appetite for more business. I think we've done all we can to help you at this point. The end result is, there are body dimensions which need to be measured under-hood which can point to a problem. There are a series of...

    2013 interceptor utility brake issue

I don't know if a repair kit exists. It could be a bent steering knuckle where the strut attaches to it. You'd have to take a look at it to see.

    Aftermarket Tail Light Options

I've had better luck with aftermarket LED taillights than I have aftermarket headlights. I've normally found aftermarket headlights to be of low quality, adjusters which have play in them and overall less than ideal beam options. I've also had them leak.

    2013 interceptor utility brake issue

I have not looked closely, but there may be enough room to elongate the upper strut mount holes to set the strut further back in the strut tower. That might help get a little more positive caster. Normally in this case, I'd suspect a bent LCA, but you said both were replaced. It won't take...

    2013 interceptor utility brake issue

Your caster issue is most likely contributing to the pull. The vehicle will pull towards the side with the least positive caster. If you notice, the RF should have more positive caster than the LF, to account for road crown. Your toe settings were also messed up - did you notice any...

What are these two items? 2013 PIU.

My 2015 PIU did not have the rear speakers installed. The door panels don't have the holes in to allow the sound to exit the door panel either. The wiring was there though. My 2015 PIU was a Ford QC vehicle, so it was never in service.

    15 PIU Horn Not Working

Very common to use the horn to switch tones of the siren when activated. The horn ring circuit is located in the lower center instrument panel, where most of the upfitter wiring is located. https://www.fleet.ford.com/truckbbas/non-html/2015/PCED_enUSA_2015_EXPLTAURUSMOD_00_020-1.pdf

What are these two items? 2013 PIU.

The speaker wires are already in the door. Have you looked? You need to replace the door panels with the civilian model or cut holes in the door panels, ghetto style. Mine had OEM speaker wire connectors in the rear doors, just needed to install speakers.
