    Camping in Explorer

I know this is an old post, but adding some info for future readers. I recall reading on other posts here that the 3rd row seat acts as crossbar and provides structural integrity to the rear cargo area. If you remove the 3rd row seat, the recommendation was to add the strut bar or cross brace...

Gas Additive for Ford Explorer Sport

I only use top tier gas in my Sport - TOP TIER™ Gasoline Brands Since our fuel injection is single port (not multi port) the engine is prone to carbon deposit buildup on the intake valves. To help prevent this buildup I add a bottle of techron every 1000 miles. Water can form in your tank by...

2017 Sport Possible oil leak? Should I be concerned? (pics)

In order to fix my timing cover leak properly, they removed the engine to have access to work on it. They may try and do it with the engine not removed, but its quite difficult to do it successfully unless they remove the engine. Make sure that they follow the new guidelines for letting the...

    PTU Problems

The dealer advised that it was not coolant leaking from the PTU but gear oil from inside the PTU. They said a 'vent tube' attached to the PTU is cracked and its leaking from there. They are replacing the 'vent tube' tomorrow.

2016 Explorer seat mysteriously moves all the way forward

Well, it took a long time but last week I came back to my parked Sport to find that the seat was "mysteriously" in the wrong position, which was the #3 memory position that I had programmed. Can only surmise that I fat fingered the #3 memory button when I was pushing the door lock button as I...

    PTU Problems

My Sport now has 28,800 miles and I had been noticing an occasional slight one time jerk in the drivetrain every 4 or 5 days. Nowhere near as bad as when the original PTU failed. Then I noticed a few drops of fluid on the garage floor. It seemed to be coolant. Took the Sport in and they...

2017 Sport Possible oil leak? Should I be concerned? (pics)

While the underside of your engine may be dirty, it should NOT be oily. You have an oil leak which is not going to get better over time, it will get worse. Oil leaks cause a drop in oil pressure. I think many Sports have this issue. Front Engine Cover Oil Leak on Explorer Sport

    Rear Suspension Toe Link Recall

My Service Advisor showed me the alignment printout, full page printout with green colors. He said that he had to submit it with the paperwork to Ford in order to get reimbursed for it. I suppose I could have asked for a copy or taken a picture of it with my phone but didn't bother. Car...

2016 Explorer seat mysteriously moves all the way forward

Finally remembered to check today. 1 is my normal spot. 2 is back and reclined for highway driving. 3 did go forward quite a bit, but not all the way. I reprogrammed 2 and 3 to be at the same position as 1, but with the seat reclined all the way back. Now I just have to wait and...

2016 Explorer seat mysteriously moves all the way forward

Sounds like the same issue I'm having. It's never just moved on its own while I'm sitting in the seat. So far its only happened while the car has been off, parked, and empty. I'll try some of the suggestions made and see if I can isolate it any.

    Car Service, ESP to rescue!

I had an oil leak that was repaired under warranty. The oil leak never made it to the garage floor. Instead it would seep down the engine, and then get dispersed / blown off while driving. The only way to see it was if you were under the car looking up. Front Engine Cover Oil Leak on...

2016 Explorer seat mysteriously moves all the way forward

2 or 3 times in the last couple of months I've come to my parked X to find that the front drivers seat has moved itself all the way forward, and tilted the seat towards the steering wheel. It's not a huge deal because I just push the seat memory button on the door and the seat returns to its...

Would like feedback on the Explorer Sport model

The Sport is awesome! Buy one that is still under factory warranty, then find the thread on this board that has the information for purchasing an extended factory warranty for a very low price, then don't worry about anything breaking.

New to Forum - with a warning for others re program 17N03 (X-Sport)

Agree that the flash would not affect performance, but clearly you are having a loss of power. The immediate suspect is the turbo and the hoses to and from it. I would check for any loose hoses or clamps. When you take it to the dealer, have them hook it up and check for any boost leaks.
