    Going wireless

I've been eyeing that CarPlay2Air since it came out. This discount just made me pull the trigger. Looking forward to seeing how it works. If it's really nice to have, I might just have to get more for the other cars so I'm not moving it around all the time. Thanks for the pointer.

Question: Route USB Cable Through Media Hub Lid?

I had a similar problem in an old Golf and ended purchasing a "flat USB cable" and it worked. It put some pressure on the latch, so you had to force it open a bit, but not too much of a hassle. Amazon has a ton of flat cables.

    2017 Explorer Sport takeoff surging

I've had the exact same behavior on our 2017 Platinum since shortly after it was new (as far as I can remember). I've read through the above threads and see that about half the folks there also had the same issue. Mine is most likely not related to humidity since we're in Northern California...

    CarPlay with Waze Speedometer

Apps that display current speed are not getting it from the vehicle. They're computing it from a priority list of two available sources: 1) GPS, 2) available WiFi, bluetooth, or cellular signals. In that order of preference. The theory is that plugging in the USB screws up the GPS feed...

    CarPlay with Waze Speedometer

I know exactly what you're talking about. I have the same problem and I agree it's about a 15% increase shown on the screen. But here's the thing: it's not a problem with Waze. I downloaded a speedometer app and got the exact same speed that Waze was reporting. So, it's not an app problem. I...

    Looking For Window Sticker

Ford seems to have disabled that window sticker tool they used to host. You can try this link which won't give you the sticker, but will tell you about the car and should give you the info you're looking for. Though, it's not clear which are options and which are standard. You can compare to...

FordPass app not showing tire pressure

Did that and got the apps running on the phone and in the car, and accepted the various on-screen requests. But the iPhone app itself still doesn't give me the ability to see much information under Vehicle Details aside from Dealer, Maintenance, and Service History. I'm wondering if late model...

FordPass app not showing tire pressure

How did you even get FordPass running on your '17? I didn't think you could get it working without SyncConnect which didn't show up in the Explorer until MY2018. Did you install your own modem?

How to: AFE Bias - How to correct your MPG readout/display

D'oh! Thanks for pointing out my own MPG bias. ;)

How to: AFE Bias - How to correct your MPG readout/display

If you enter a number less than 1000, wouldn't that cause your displayed average to drop? Because you're dividing your lower, manually computed MPG by the higher displayed one, that gives you the bias factor in the 900 range, similar to @15Limited's example.

    Cycling through presets

It's not a single button press, but you can use the right-side steering wheel controls - while in Entertainment mode - to change sources or cycle the preset pages of each source.

    Outside Temperature in Instrument Cluster

Great news! I see you have the Sport. I've got the Platinum which has the two large dials in the cluster as opposed to just the one. I wonder where it would show up in that configuration. One way to find out - I'll try it.

    Outside Temperature in Instrument Cluster

Aha, I do see something there now on the FORScan spreadsheet. Worth a try. Have you tried it and gotten it to work? Where does it show up?

    Outside Temperature in Instrument Cluster

I completely share your frustration on this. We also have a '17 Fusion and '17 Explorer and I've often wished Ford had placed the outside temp on the center cluster on the Explorer. We use CarPlay about 75% of the time in both vehicles, so I often don't have that quick view on that car. I...

Is It Possible to Lock Out the Garage Door Opener Unless the Motor is Running?

I suppose I can try this when I get home, but does it also work if the FOB is not with you in the car?

    sync 3 3.0 ... no waze support?

After trying everything the last two days to duplicate others' success, I finally found the magic step. I had to disable CarPlay for BOTH phones that had been added, not just mine which was always disabled. My wife uses CarPlay in the vehicle, but I was only trying to get Waze to show up via...

Deciding between 13,15 and 16(?) Limited

Re the tow package, you may never tow a trailer or boat, but it comes in real handy if you like to travel with your bikes. In my opinion, the best bike racks available or those that mount into the hitch. It's way easier than mounting on the roof - especially a taller car like the Explorer...

    sync 3 3.0 ... no waze support?

This is Waze's current response to the update: waze on Twitter

    SYNC 3 latest version

Just installed official release 3.0 via USB on both my 2017 Explorer (which was still on 2.2) and my 2017 Fusion Energi (which was already on 2.3). Each one took around 20-25 minutes from beginning to end with no hiccups. :dpchug: So far, everything looks good, though I'll know more in the...

New member deciding on 2018 Explorer or waiting on 2019

Yes, everything in 360 is available today in one or more packages (or standard on upper trim levels). Ford's intention is to make all these safety features standard in all of their cars and trucks within the next few model years.

New member deciding on 2018 Explorer or waiting on 2019

Or you could go the other direction: since very little changed between 2017 and 2018, and the consensus is that there will be little to no changes for 2019, why not take advantage of the even bigger incentives that dealers and Ford are offering to get rid of the 2017 inventory? I just checked...

Power Adjustable Pedals 2017 explorer xlt

I was going to refer you to your online Window Sticker via the VIN lookup, but I just looked at my window sticker ('17 Platinum) and the pedal adjustments aren't listed anywhere as a standard feature or an option. However, if you look at the 2017 online brochure linked below, you can see the...

Waze will be available in 3.0!!!

That's the way I understand it. And AppLink (or at the least, this Waze app) requires a USB connection since it's mirroring the app from the phone and that amount of data cannot be transferred quickly enough over Bluetooth.

Waze will be available in 3.0!!!

I just went through that F150 thread and there were several references to Waze making this available in March (though I couldn't find that mention in Waze's press release). It also sounded like that may sync up with Ford's official release of 3.0 which is, in the words of a Ford person I spoke...

Waze will be available in 3.0!!!

Ford integrates Waze navigation app in Sync 3 This is amazing news for Apple CarPlay users! I'm curious how it will work with CarPlay, though. It's not a CarPlay app - it's a native Sync 3 app. But can CarPlay be enabled while Waze is available? Or does CarPlay need to be disabled first...
