    Big transmission oil leak

Hi, so I parked in the garage to start on some maintenance jobs, and came in to this mess. The pan was wet when I bought it, but AFAIK it wasn't a massive leak. I have front main leak so its wet at the front from that probably, and all the oil on the floor is ATF. Hoping it's just the pan...

    Jay's 2 stage build

Ok here goes, my build thread. It's a '92 and has only 80k miles. The build will be in 2 stages over the next 3 years; Stage 1, fix the current problems, add a 2 inch spacer and 3 inch body liff, bumper, winch, 33's....wheel it! Stage 2, SAS (I have a mid 70's d44/9" with 4.56's), maybe 302...

    Jay's '92 SAS on F150's

Here in Nova Scotia, we mostly wheel in the woods and on the powerlines, where it's overgrown, muddy, snowy and dry in the summer. I've decided to not put a ton of money into the TTB and do a solid axle swap. I bought a set of '197x' F150 axles - High Pinion open knuckle Dana 44 and Ford 9 inch...

    Intake tube removal

I always put a snorkel on my rigs, but this time I'm planning on a hood mounted, backwards ram induction hood scoop air intake like this one. I've removed the front facing water sucking intake tube that mounts to the core support. That tube has an aluminum tube the connects what looked like...

    Lift kit purchased...kinda

So after a LOT of deliberation, advise and research, I've decided I don't want to put twice as much $ as the Explorer is worth into a Skyjacker or James Duff lift, and skip putting a bracket lift on, so I bought a bargain rolling 1976 F150 chassis with HP Dana 44 and 9 inch with 4.56 gears. We...

    tailgate alignment / install

The tailgate on my Explorer wasn't closing properly when I bought it, and I've spent a good few frustrating hours trying to align it without success. Right now I have one side half closed and the other side wont sit flush with the seal. Any tips or instructions available? Thanks

Hi, I'm looking for a 5.5" front lift, but I can't find the brackets online. The only ones I can find say they are for Rangers, Explorers are not listed. Would these work? https://shop.broncograveyard.com/mobile/55-inch-Standard-Lift-Kit/productinfo/83850/

Transmission oil on coolant fan shroud

Hi, I noticed transmission oil on the fan shroud. I wiped it off and it came back, but it's hard to see where it's coming from with the air from the fan PO replaced the radiator. Those 2 hoses on the plastic tank are water ? Is there a diagram I can look at to check the hoses? Any thoughts...

    Lift dilemma

Hi.. 1992 1st gen XLT...for my mild build I want to put some 33x10.50's KM2's under it, maybe build some sliders, maybe build a winch bumper...and that is it! So to the 1st dilemma - the body mounts need replacing as the body is sat on the frame LOL Do I use stock mounts or go with the 3 inch...

    New 1st Gen Explorer

Hi, I just acquired a 1992 Explorer XLT to use as a wheeler / camper / exploration rig. I previously ran a gen 1.5 Xterra, which after wearing out the frontend, I SAS'd it with a '79 Bronco front and 8.8 rear. Now own a 1985 Suzuki Samurai with 1.6 8v TBI, 5.13s on 33's as my weekend warrior...
