Field Service Actions 20B27 and 20N07?

We’re there any symptoms months before failing?

Field Service Actions 20B27 and 20N07?

Ouch sorry to hear that. What engine? And have you ever changed the transmission fluid? I’m 200 miles shy of 100k miles with 0 issues so far. I even did a little off roading today with no issues. Hopefully Ford helps you out some.

Field Service Actions 20B27 and 20N07?

I got a letter in the mail today about the recall. They are reprogramming the PCM because it is possible for the transmission torque converter to overheat in certain driving conditions. So somehow the new software helps protect the torque converter from overheating....at least that is what the...

Field Service Actions 20B27 and 20N07?

Im curious on this also. I took my 2016 2.3 in for the Toe Link today and they completed the 20b27 recall also. I am wondering exactly what changed. On the drive home the car drove the same. I now have 99,500 miles....if i get an extra 12k mile warranty on the transmission that woould be OK...

    Towing without Tow Package

    What engine do you have?

Check out how the different terrain modes work.

Yea I was surprised by how much mud and rut used the brakes to act as a locker. And how the other modes weren’t as aggressive and let the tires slip a lot more.

Check out how the different terrain modes work.

I don't post much here mostly read other posts. I put some Firestone Destination AT2 Tires on my 2016 explorer. So I wanted to know how well the 4wd system worked. I made a diagonal test video on it. I was surprised how well the Mud Ruts mode did. The link to the video is below. Thanks

    Time for tires

I just got Firestone Destination AT2 tires in 245/60/18 on my 2016 Base and they are awesome in the snow and icy roads. They are also quiet and light so my fuel mileage has stayed the same as stock. I made a quick video with them. https://youtu.be/iMTP4qdkkd4 I would recommend these to anyone...

How to install a factory tow package on a 2016 XLT

Maybe but it seems to point towards the PTU also.

How to install a factory tow package on a 2016 XLT

Just an FYI my 2016 4wd with the 2.3 eb has the cutout and cooling duct to the transmission. And I don't have a tow package. It also has the puny 6f35 transmission. I do want to get a hitch to haul a bike rake and small trailer though.

    2.3 ecoboost performance parts

From everything I can find online it seems like the limiting factor on power is the transmission. The 6f35 seems to only be rated around 300lb torque which this motor makes stock. Seems odd Ford would do that but it makes me want to stay away from tuning the engine for more ponies. Maybe after...

    2.3 ecoboost performance parts

Why would the 35 be weaker than the 50 transmissiom? The 2.3 makes a lot more torque than the 3.5 NA. Or why would for put a weaker transmission in the higher power engine. Doesn't make sense.

    2.3 ecoboost performance parts

But his being a turbo engine it's different. From reading online in Mustang forms the engine reads the quality of fuel and adjust s the timing accordingly. So higher octane better fuel it runs better and makes the advertised HP. If you buy junk fuel it will take out timing to save the engine...

    2.3 ecoboost performance parts

I see mostly xlt around me. Standard 3.5 not with 2.3 eco. Does anyone run only premium gas? Vs regular to see how much performance gain there is?

    Using oil?

Do you change the oil yourself or take it somewhere? Maybe when it was changed last it wasn't actually filled all the way.

    Using oil?

Looking on my phone it doesn't show the info on the side sorry.

2.3 EcoBoost PTU fluid change result.

The timing cover job looks like a PITA so I'm just going to see if it ever starts to leak worse. There are no drops on the ground so no worries right now. But I'm glad I got the 2.3 because a lot of things are easier to work on. And it did take close to 24oz to fill up.

2.3 EcoBoost PTU fluid change result.

I made a video of the fluid change if anyone is interested in what the fluid looked like after 76k miles. Here is the link.

    2.3 ecoboost performance parts

I did find a couple companies in Europe that have a tune for it. Just not sure how comfortable I would be running it.

    2.3 ecoboost performance parts

I'm right there with you guys. It's warming up out and I want some performance parts for my 2.3. this is a powerful little motor that can easily see another 20 to 30 .ore hp and torque with a tune.

Tunes for the N/A 3.5L Explorers

Not to knock on the HP and Trq gains from the tune that's pretty darn impressive. But I noticed you dyno'd a fwd explorer which will give higher numbers on the Dyno. I'm curious what an AWD explorer makes.

2.3 EcoBoost PTU fluid change result.

Not so long ago I posted my front right passenger Axle seal is leaking. The car has 76k miles on it so I wanted to change the PTU fluid asap. I bought the car a few months ago with 72k miles. Since there was a leak I wanted to know how much has leaked out. To my surprise I drained 22oz out...

    Front Passenger Axle Seal Leak

I just read through them. I cleaned the oil off today. I drove about 15 miles and itiwt still dry. I will keep an eye on it to see how much it leaks. There are no drops on the ground so far. This weekend I will drain the PTU and refill it with fresh fluid. Hopefully this will help. From...

    Front Passenger Axle Seal Leak

Good Afternoon, I recently purchased a 2016 explorer 2.3 4wd. It had 72k miles on it and now at 76k. I crawled under it this morning and noticed the front passenger Axle leaks. Now the fluid doesn't smell like gear oil. But is this the PTU fluid leaking? Because that's what the axle is...
