SYNC Build 21194 Is Released by Ford

Downloaded this update to a flash drive and installed it yesterday. Travel Link has worked three starts in a row. I’m optimistic it’s finally fixed.

    Sync 21098 OTA Available

My ST auto downloaded 21020 and now my Travel link only works on the first start of the day. I just downloaded 21098 and hope it may restore things. Can you confirm how many files should have been downloaded? There seems to be less files compared to when I did this before. This download...

    SYNC 3.4 Most recent version?

Thanks. I’ll try it on a PC.

    SYNC 3.4 Most recent version?

I just downloaded the files and was curious if the file structure is correct. I do not see the SyncMyRide folder, per se, but just the name of the folder. For example, SyncMyRide\5...4G381-ED.tar.gz and four more with the same naming structure. Did this download correctly?

    Disfunctional Voice Control of Navigation

When pressing the voice button a list of options does show up on screen. I also did a master reset before doing your suggested truncated update but that did not help. Would you suggest I ask the dealer to re-install or update the sync software? I was there yesterday and asked if they would...

    Disfunctional Voice Control of Navigation

I see three of them listed on the left side of the screen. I wonder if my sync build Is damaged? After the dealer updated the sync build a few months back the voice prompts many times cut out abruptly mid sentence leaving several words out. Interestingly, the map update said it was completed...

    Disfunctional Voice Control of Navigation

I had the same problem and followed your instructions, but the voice activated navigation still does not function. Any other thoughts? Should I buy the nav update in case my downloaded version was somehow corrupt? Thanks for your help.

    SYNC 3.4 Most recent version?

I’m running Sync 3.4 19274 build and just noticed today that voice commands no longer work for navigation. I push the voice command button and speak a command but the visual voice menu just goes away. I updated the maps database a couple of days ago and wonder if that broke something? I did a...

Missing Part - Rear Air Deflector

I wonder if the air deflector somehow interferes with the hands-free opening function of the lift gate? Is a sensor located between the mufflers?

    Sync Version History

I just returned from the dealer today and they updated my 2020 Explorer ST with software version 19274 (Sync 3.4)

Brakes inconsistent / not smooth at low speed?

I have a theory about this. I noticed the same thing, especially in sport mode at low speed. I don’t think it’s the brakes being grabby, but the transmission down shifting aggressively.

Standard feature Error on Ford's website

I did something similar when I noticed that I did not receive an ST logo on the floor mats, even though it was listed on my window sticker and on the Ford website. Ford’s response was that they made a running change and they will not be offered. I have a feeling you will see a similar response...

    Possible Quality Poll

I Joined this forum in early July after receiving my early-build ST (it was built on 6/29 and delivered on 7/3). In short, I really enjoy driving it and have no regrets. Although there were a handful of cosmetic imperfections, an intermittent low speed suspension knock (it is really subtle-- I...

    Multiple suspension noises

I have the issue, too. So make that six. It’s a subtle noise that I’ve been trying to live with. Now that I see so many others have it, it is definitely a bigger problem than I originally thought. I’ll mention it to the dealer at my next service.

    Floor, cargo mats / liners

I ordered them from my dealer after I got the truck. I found them on the Ford accessories web site and provided the part numbers to the dealer. This was back on July.

    Floor, cargo mats / liners

For those interested in seeing what the Ford floor liners look like, here are some pics. I think they work well. (I couldn’t wait any longer for the WeatherTechs, my usual choice, to come out.)

    Lane Centering Stopped Working

They claimed they needed to remove the steering wheel to swap the cluster of buttons.

    Front License Plate Bracket

My Illinois plate will not fit correctly, either. When the top bolts are installed the bottom bolts will not align with the lower holes of the bracket. I had to leave the bottom bolts out with the lower part of the plate sitting outside/on top of the two lower clips. Seems to be solid, but not...

    Lane Centering Stopped Working

My dealer also had to open a case with Ford to evaluate the issue. Ford had them review the software modules, as well as clear some error codes. During this testing they discovered that the switch assembly was problematic (some buttons were slow to respond and the lane centering button did not...

    Lane Centering Stopped Working

The button on the stalk is for lane assist. The button on the steering wheel is for the lane centering function and requires the adaptive cruise control. This cluster of buttons was defective on my steering wheel (lane centering didn’t work) and was replaced. This solved the problem.

    Floor, cargo mats / liners

They have the word "EXPLORER" embossed on them, not ST. They are similar in form to the floor liners you get from WeatherTech, but have a closely spaced wavy pattern in them versus widely spaced ribs in the WeatherTech's. They fit nicely. In terms of material, they are made of a softer rubber...

    Lane Centering Stopped Working

Correct. The button at some point stopped working. The dealer replaced the entire button set on the left part of the steering wheel. It now works.

    Issues at initial delivery

The dealer fixed the Lane Centering issue. They needed to replace the switch on the steering wheel. Apparently it was faulty.

Explorers Heading west on I 80 in Indiana

For those still waiting for their Explorers to arrive, I saw an a interesting site last Friday (8/2) while driving from Chicago to Columbus, OH. While on I80, just south of Lake Michigan in Indiana, I was heading eastbound and lo and behold I saw a truckload of Explorers heading west on I80. I...
