mine did the same at 170k lasted about a yearbefore it finally gave out. nothing like seeing gray sludge in your tranny lines when a week before the fluid was bright red. drive it til it quites or get a replacement to be prepared.

Put a salvaged tranny in my 98 sport 4x4 auto this wekend. For some reason the original dip stick is too short and thick to fit into new tranny. I don't know the year of the new tranny but I'm about 2 inches short and a tad too thick to fill the fill hole :-) anyone know a different year that...

hello. my torque converter has quit on me. 1998 sport sohc 4x4 auto 171k. ive had the o/d blinkin for about a year and hav basically ignored it aside from pulling the code for torque converter sticking or sumthing, cant remember. so finally the trans gave out. btw this thing shifted flawlessly...

Does anyone know the route of that vacume house he has taped up? The one next to the --stat housing. mines all chewed up and looks like a pita to replace. thanks

i didnt remove the plenium as it wasnt nessassary once we found the root of the problem being the t-stat huousing. i wouldnt want to do it again but it wasnt hard. took about 3hrs w/ and experience mechanic, in a shop w/ a lift and air, was free though.

98 sport ;). first i gotta realign the rear springs as the right side somehow slipped a little from the axle causing the u bolt to lossen which is causing my current tires to be eaten alive :rolleyes:.

i bought these tires too. i got them from tire rack. they rated very high and i got them for about 450 shipped to my door, money well spent imho. these tires look great. i havent put them on yet but ive had similar tires and they rock in the snow. good luck!

that tube goes on the rear axle vent tube. i use a small hose clamp on mine and havnt had a problem since. i believe its to release hot air.

i would say, from research on here and the front fender of nextel cup cars, the moog is the best, idk though. i forgot to mention im doing torsion bar adjusters as well.

i found, on ebay, a complete front susp. rebuild. i dont have the link but it includes: both lower ball joints, both upper a-arms w/ ball joints, both inner and outer tie rods, and all are greasable. has anyone ever used these products. the kit is only 115 plus shipping thats what raised a red...

how do u run speaker wires from door to cabin near front door. im installing an amp and need to hook the door speakers to it and cant get the wires through the huge harness that on the door.

jeez...can i say i had my cam tensioner and jack shaft(i think) replaced by for a few years ago and now the past two weeks the thing is very noticably loud. i mean rattling around town... i cant hear it on highway. but can these fail that soon or could it be something else? the motor has 124k...
