only need mono channel, help with LOC

I feel like a newbie asking this, but I've never dealt with stock systems only aftemarket. I don't want to splice into the back speakers to run an aftermarket amp for my sub because they don't receive signal below 150 hz. So therefore I'll have to pull the panel and splice into the factory sub...

    Plate speakers vs oval

Mixing them is just fine. Put the better speakers up front. I personally kept the stock speakers in the back, you don't hear them really and "rear fill" is debatable if its needed, especially if you have a sub.

    Speaker Harness

those might work, I've always gotten them from crutchfield, about same price and guaranteed to fit.

Line Level Converter: Where did you splice in?

In My 2005 XLT I'm going to keep the stock audiophile headunit, but I'd like to add a sub more powerful than the little one in the back. Thats fine if the stock unit still fires while the new sub fires too. My question is where did you splice into the speakers either for a direct connection...

Ever try Mothers back to black for sun fading?

Not bad, I liked that stuff a lot. Its kinda runny and a pain to apply but it works. I've used that on cars I've detailed for clients and works great.

My attempt at taking out swirls

Foam is definitely the way to go. If you are using a rotary be very careful to always keep the pad moving as to not generate much heat. I burned the paint on a BMW 330ci rocker panel being careless once. Orbital go for it at any speed. Using either machine it takes a while, you may need multiple...

    5R55W filter change

Hey since Ford doesn't recommend a filter change till 150k on these trannies according to the service manual they give you with the car, how often should I change the filter. I had the tranny flushed at the dealership at 35k miles but don't think they changed the filter. I know have 46k miles on...

    Rough Shifts??????

    Couple Problems with the X

when was the last time the fuel filter was replaced? I had a similar issue with the stalling, took it to Ford, and they put a new fuel filter in there and haven't had a problem since.

    Replacing speakers in 2003 XLT

The factory sub you have to remove the whole panel. I've never done it on my '05, but in my old 94 I couldn't get all the screw holes to line up exactly right again haha.

? on third row seat for 2005 explorer

the problem you run into is if there are the places for your feet. I don't know if the imprints in the floor exist in those that didn't have the 3rd row option so thats something to check. Just my two cents

    Replacing speakers in 2003 XLT

Hey just to clear up what everyone has said, there is no amp you need to bypass in the 02-05's for the door speakers. The subwoofer is powered by its own amp though and it is an 8 inch sub. You need to take the door panels off to replace the spakers, its much easier than on the generation one...

    cd player don't work

try prying the disc input open just a tad bit with your fingers and then try and eject the CD. it may take a few tries but sometimes I've gotten an error message when trying to play or eject but once I pry it open and do this, then put the CD back in it works just fine. Kinda weird but hope this...

    2003 Explorer brake issue?

    Rough Shifts??????

Although I have the V6 we have the same tranny. When mine shifts into third going up a hill on the freeway it shifts hard and feels and sounds like something is loose. Rarely, just going straight when downshifting it will do it as well. Is this the same as you experience?

Best location for a 10" subwoofer?

yeah, that location is where the factory sub goes. There isn't a whole lot of room there because of the fuel tank filler hose being right there. Kind of a dumb design by Ford, they should have kept it on the driver side haha. They don't make stealth boxes for the 2002-2005 so its going to be a...
