good idea; I might just do that tomorrow when I pick up our XLT; it's in the shop to paint an area that never got any---the hatch

My dealer told me yesterday that NO XLT's had hood insulation; they even offered to let me go around the lot and look at them to verify; I declined but I'm not happy

I just hope I'm correct in my thinking that this pad is a standard item that should be on all explorers

I just checked my XLT and it also does NOT have an insulation pad under the hood; I'm taking it in tomorrow morning for an area where paint is missing and I'll ask them about it; my understanding is that ALL should have the insulation under the hood

I can definitely hear and feel it, just as I could in my F150

I've had it in my last 3 ford vehicles and while it does annoy me occasionally, I just try to ignore it; it's not worth worrying about
