    If my 4x4 automatic hub is bad, does it make a "clicking sound" like a bad "CV"? I can't tell if it's the Auto locking hub or a CV gone bad? A reply would be a great help. I drive a '99 Explorer Sport V6SOHC 4WD

    Transmission Cooler Upgrade

    I want to add an additional cooler to my '99 Explorer Sport V6SOHC. The 5R55E Transmission isn't the best Ford ever put out. I'd like to do some remote camping and I think an extra cooler would be a big help.

    I'm trying to find a mechanic that knows 2nd gen explorers near New Britain, CT. The one I have is basically a "Hack" only concerned w/$$$ because he's going to retire in the near future. I had to ask for help on this site, to locate the PCV valve intake location and SHOW him photos of it...

    Um? Remove the harness and there's a fit piece of FOAM! Is it under the FOAM? There is NO hose leading out of the foam for the PCV! I bought the Oil sump and the rest of the PCV system from a local dealership. I need a PHOTO of What's under the harness and the FOAM. PLEASE! thanks in advance.

    Does anyone have a photo of a 1998 SOHC V6 engine w/t plenum removed that shows the opening for the oil sump? Is it under this harness and the foam insert below? I'm trying to fix the PVC system. I would appreciate any photos and/or help on this. Thanx in advance.

    Thank you for the photo. Did you notice the piece of foam material in the engine "valley"? Does the Oil sump placed under that? The harness above it seems to prevent its placement. Any help with this situation would be greatly appreciated. Thank you again.

    4×4. It's {the whump, whump, whump} not really loud. Seems to be coming from the right rear tire area. Not the transfer case area. Did your transfer case not indicate it was engaged, before it failed?
