    Finding mechanics that know 2nd gen explorers

    I'm trying to find a mechanic that knows 2nd gen explorers near New Britain, CT. The one I have is basically a "Hack" only concerned w/$$$ because he's going to retire in the near future. I had to ask for help on this site, to locate the PCV valve intake location and SHOW him photos of it...

    Engine question

    Does anyone have a photo of a 1998 SOHC V6 engine w/t plenum removed that shows the opening for the oil sump? Is it under this harness and the foam insert below? I'm trying to fix the PVC system. I would appreciate any photos and/or help on this. Thanx in advance.

    U joints

    Just had all my u joints replaced. CV to trans case too. I'm getting a vibration that wasn't there before at speeds over 40 mph. Any help on this would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

    Repair

    My mechanic said- "the transfer case needs to be taken apart to replace the front seal." {Is this true?}

    Wanted Repair

    Does The front driveshaft turn w/4WD off in a 1999 ford explorer sport? If not, HOW can I disengage the transfer case? Will I RUIN the transfer case if I go over 45 mph? Does anyone know of a reputable 4 WD repair in the Greater Hartford, CT. area, for older Ford's. {No dealerships please}

    Rear wheel bering going?

    My 1999 explorer sport is producing a "Whump, Whump, whump" noise as I travel my local roads. There's no flat spot on the tire, So? The noise seems to be coming from the right rear wheel. Wheel bearing? Or possibly something else? I'm new to this forum as well. I don't speak "mechanic" well yet.
