Solved All Car Audio Manufacturers, their URLs, and Links to Specs

So obviously I have neglected this thread... After buying the STi, I've kind of been neglecting Serious Explorations as a whole! :( Anyway, I am in the process of updating my original post now. I've gone through the links up to and including 'P'. Once I'm finished updating what already...

modding bug isn't just for Explorers

+1! <--- Has $2,500 in go-fast parts sitting in the basement, waiting for Spring. :burnout:

    What is Tin-Phosphor Bronze bushing?

The bushing is what the shaft spins on. This'll help: Note that in the picture, it's called a "bearing." Either type can be used... Ball bearing turbochargers will spool up slightly faster than their non-bb counterparts.

    Kill List

I know your profile says you're not in Mississippi anymore, but where exactly are you located now? What you're describing is ~15 miles from my house, and I go through there every night on my way home from work. Yeah, those dumptrucks out there will really surprise you if you're not careful! :p

    New Car

It's nice, but I liked it better when the idea of a twin turbo I6 was being tossed around.

    New way to remove tar

A lot more tar free, perhaps? :p Paint should be fine... Many, including myself, use it to dissolve emblem glue when debadging.

Yep, that sounds like the stuff!

What would you use for the main audio power wire?

You do know that wire loom is used to protect the wire, not hide it, right?

What would you use for the main audio power wire?

I used KnuKonceptz and it was just fine. I believe they still sell through eBay.

How fast can you change the plugs on your V6???

Jack it up and remove the tire? Ha! The last time I changed mine I did it all without jacking the truck up or removing the tire. Try it again like that and see how fast you can do it! :) Note: This was done with stock size tires.

installing a kill switch to my 92 explorer

That may be... And god knows Explorers need parts, but I still want to know the make/model/year of car that was stolen. Tacoma, WA is not like Texas, New Jersey, or California when it comes to car theft.

Say Hello to the 4 sec. Stang. '07 GT500

Why put a speed limiter on it? Wussies! I'll stick with my car, and be able to drive it year-round.

installing a kill switch to my 92 explorer

Out of curiosity, what make, model, and year of car was stolen? Also, is your Ex stock? Methinks nobody is going to look twice at a stock '92 Explorer.

    Wheel siz question

Unless my math is wrong, that still means you hit about 119 MPH. Damn fast in an Explorer. At that speed, I would fear for my life if I were in an Explorer! I maxed my '94 out at 95 once and that was enough for me.

    Kill List

I totally destroyed a Saturn VUE today!!! This guy was already stopped at the red light, and I pulled up next to him. Up ahead the road was merging into one lane... Of course I was in the lane that had to move over. So I see this guy look down at me and then start watching the lights for the...

    Wheel siz question

No kidding... If they have any interest in driving and performance, they'll look for something lighter, then worry about looks. If they just want some "bling" :p, more than likely they'll end up with something heavy that's pretty... Ugh, I hate that crap.

    Wheel siz question

Yes, if they are heavier. My younger brother just switched from the stock 15s on his '92 Prelude, to a new set of 17s. Surprisingly, with the stock wheels being so old (wheel technology has come a long way since then!), his new wheel/tire combination weighs about 3 pounds less per corner!

    Wheel siz question

To run the same overall diameter, you're going to have to get tires with a lower-profile sidewall, meaning less sidewall flex and better turning. That's really all I can think of.

    My STi has been hit!

Adjuster guy just left. He cut me a check for about $280 less than the most expensive shop (the shop I wanted to take it to)... Hopefully they can work that out without it costing me more money. Also, I did not notice until after he left, but he put the wrong part number for the fender flare...

    My STi has been hit!

Another update: After hearing the estimates, the guy decided to report it to his insurance company. So this morning I got a call from one of the agents there. They are sending out another person to do an estimate tomorrow. After that, I can take it to whatever shop I want, but the repairs...

    My STi has been hit!

Oh yeah, you don't need to tell me about Subaru paint quality... I've got tons of little chips. Had a really big one that I filled in and wetsanded. That came out looking pretty good. I figure I will just wait until it gets really bad, then get the whole thing repainted a nice color like...

    My STi has been hit!

Hmm, unfortuantely for you, driving it is still exactly the same, so I think I'll keep it. :p Just got off the phone with my agent... The guy that hits me wants to pay out of pocket instead of reporting it to his insurance company. So this weekend I will be getting repair estimates. He'll...

    My STi has been hit!

Just a Subaru? That's why this is in the All Other Makes and Models forum. If this had happened to my Explorer, I wouldn't have cared.

    My STi has been hit!

I'm hoping that whatever shop I take it to can match the paint well... Metallics are always hard to match. I guess if they spend enough time/effort blending, it will look good. You're right, it could have been much worse. I am wondering what they will do about the wheel... It looks like it...

    My STi has been hit!

:fire: :fire: My beautiful car, not yet 1 year old, that I have been so careful not to get dinged or dented, got sideswiped on the way home from work today! Driving back from work, I was in the right lane and there was a truck stopped up ahead in the left lane waiting to make a left turn...
