    Kert's tow rig 2005 F250 6.0 Diesel

Back from the dead! :D Figured I would update this cause it's been awhile and there have been some major things happening with the truck lately. 1. Last year the trans went out, replaced it with a reman with some upgraded shift solenoids. Old trans had two holes eaten into the top of the case...

    Another door stuck thread.

My explorer did this on the drivers door. I was able to fix mine my taking the slack out of the linkage for the exterior door handle. The linkage points have clips on them that you can snap apart and snap back on in a different spot to adjust them. I found there is a spot where if the linkage...

    Parts Cleaner in engine????

Wow, this thread really got exciting since I've checked it last! Glad to see you put some elbow grease in there and cleaned some parts by hand and didn't rely on a magic bullet in a can! Side note, this thread might have been one of the biggest E-pen15 competition threads I've seen on EF for a...

    Parts Cleaner in engine????

If it runs fine, what does it matter if you "think" there is gunk/sludge in there? The only place sludge usually accumulates is on the top of the head, so you could always take of a valve cover pretty easily and see how it looks and clean it while you're there. Putting ANY liquid in the intake...

Anyone make a gooseneck enclosed trailer in the 10-16ft range?

Here is what I ended up with, a 7x14+V-nose H&H trailer made to order. Ended up dropping the gooseneck dreams because it would have doubled the cost of the trailer. Custom options were the side door with a camper style latch/lock, there's a tinted window on the other side of the trailer, and...

Betty's "I want to be a mule" progress log thread

Glad to here you're still happy with it :D It's basically a bumper built around a receiver hitch, so as long as all the bolts are tight on the frame you should be good

    Google will not answer me.

Sorry to hear that your Google Machine has been failing you. Have you tried replacing the belt tensioner? If it is worn even a new belt will slip easy and squeek. It may also slip enough to not turn your power steering pump under load.

    Mig Welding & Trucks Computer

Yes, it would most likely show up right away if you had a problem.

    Mig Welding & Trucks Computer

Yes, it is recommended...like I said, going through bearings is a big no-no (Google electrical pitting in bearings) and even with the battery disconnected weird stuff can still happen if you have stray voltage running somewhere other than the "workpiece."

    Mig Welding & Trucks Computer

As long as the ground clamp of the welder is directly attached to what you are welding on, you will be fine. If say you are welding on the frame and your ground is attached to the body then you might have problems. You also want to make sure the path of electricity does not go through any...

    DIY AC recharge or shop?

If you don't plan on doing it again, just take it to a shop, it will be cheaper. Otherwise a HF vacuum pump will be $100ish, gauges will be another $40ish plus the r134a.

    302 block advise

I decided to do some upgrades to the 302 in my boat this summer. After I pulled the heads off I noticed one of the cylinders had some evidence of rust pitting. I took the block to get machined and I just got a call that that cylinder wont clean up .030 over and they recommend sleeving it. The...

    Excise tax just arrived

Same here, car registration is based on vehicle type, how old it is, and new price. The "curve" is quite dramatic too as far as how old the car is. A brand new car will be around $750/year and a 10yr old car is like $40/year My wifes 2011 edge is around $650 and the 05 super duty is only...

Anyone make a gooseneck enclosed trailer in the 10-16ft range?

Maybe I should just skip the whole trailer idea and join the bingo bus crowd... this is cheap and local :D http://desmoines.craigslist.org/cto/3719550247.html

Anyone make a gooseneck enclosed trailer in the 10-16ft range?

I guess I could do something classy like buy a bumper pull and weld a gooseneck on it... I do know a guy that did that to a 20ish foot enclosed trailer and it turned out pretty good.

Anyone make a gooseneck enclosed trailer in the 10-16ft range?

Ya, there are some pretty sweet two horse trailers with living quarters about that long, but by the time you figure the cost to buy one, then cut it up and enclose it, I'm better off with modifying one like you posted in the link. That one's in TX though... It looks like if I want the gooseneck...

Anyone make a gooseneck enclosed trailer in the 10-16ft range?

I have a need for an enclosed trailer in the 10-16 foot range, but I have some wants that no one seems to make in a trailer that size. Wants: Gooseneck hitch 10-16 foot deck length Ramp rear door Camper style side door (ability to open from inside too) Two axle Ability to convert...
