    Vermont NEX Members Met Today

Not much; working on our house, going to school, and trying to get a job. My schedule is really tight right now making it hard to find a job. Later - Nate

Hey Guys! Nice pics by the way. The snow is just about gone where I am in N. Clarendon. Long time since I've been on here.

    Memorial Day:

I would like to, but I took off the whole month of June or just about for the Wedding and Honeymoon. Me and the "NEW" missus will be going to the Dominican Republic for a couple of weeks. :D If I didn't work weekends I would go. The following Saturday is my "suprise" bachelor party...

It sounds like its time for a manual tranny swap!!! :D I will never own another P.O.S. automatic again. I like the control of my manual trans. :p Later - Nate

Trees fight back or try like hell!

Actually forward in my case! The tree branch came up from underneath my X to hit my mirror in a quasi forward motion. I was really stoke it didn't break my mirror glass. Later - Nate

    FerrariOWN3d

I've seen F-15 crash sites that made less of a mess than that Enzo left! Man, what a waste of a finely tuned sports car. The Ferrari Enzo is a rolling piece of artwork, it is a sad turn of events. Speed+slight straight-a-way+bad steering=major @#$%ing mess. Almost brings a tear to my eye...

Trees fight back or try like hell!

Don't need it, Gorilla Glue and electrical tape does wonders. Zip Ties do a good job as license plate holders too! Later - Nate

Trees fight back or try like hell!

In VT both license plates have to be visible; otherwise, have to be on the exterior of the vehicle. I received a ticket for having one of my plates in the back window because the rear screw holes on my Jeep were stripped.

    16's are 16's?

Try US Wheel or American Racing they make crawlers for every kind of application. US Wheel is the cheaper of the 2. Looking at 55-65 for the plain steelies. The Street-Locks are about 90-100 bucks a wheel. Thats my 2 cents. Oh and keep your Ford center caps they are a little less incline...

Trees fight back or try like hell!

I went out wheeling today and a downed tree took a swipe at my X. I had no problem going over it the first time, but coming back through that ******* came up swinging, ripped my front license pate off, bent my antenna, and then sucker punched my passenger side mirror. :fire: I was...

    Independence Day weekend event?

It is off the Notch Rd. extension in Mendon. It is 10 minutes from RutVegas. It is an old fire trail. I was told the other trail if I followed it would come out in Shrewsbury. So that part of the trail could be 5-10 miles long not including the part I went on the other day. I'll check it...

    Independence Day weekend event?

Thanks everyone for the good wishes. :D I went out on a trail last night, it was probably a intermediate level trail. :p It goes for about 1.5 - 2.5 miles before there is another access into it, then it turns to the right. I'll have to check it out some more when I get a chance. It was a...

    Independence Day weekend event?

June is also out fo me too! I'm gettin' hitched and leaving the country! We are going on a cruise to some hot, non-english speaking , and aquatic regions. I was hoping to go back to the U.K. and visit some places I missed when I was stationed there. Oh Well! Later - Nate.

    Tire Opinions Please

I run BFG ATKOs they are quiet running and look pretty mean for an AT. As for wear, I have a 5 wheel rotation so they should last for a long while. I would shy away from anything with a directional tread pattern, just in case you have a flat, your spare will not wear well if you have to run it...

leaf spring question for 2001 X sport 4x4

You might want to check out customsuspensions.com! :D They make custom leaf springs with 1" to 16" worth of lift. I have 2" custom springs on my X, which measures to about 3" for some reason and that is plenty more lift than I expected. They are affordable, they cost about $350 including...

    Independence Day weekend event?

Invest in a battery powered sawzall. They work pretty slick! :D I can check into some trails around where my camp is in Mendon. It depends on how much logging is going on. :) Later - Nate

    Whoops!

UGLY, just ugly! How did you manage to thrash the splines that bad, time for a one piece drive shaft? Huh? Get a Stihl and show that tree why it isn't healthy to mess with your rig. Later - Nate

Kinda Bummed out.....should have gone bigger!

Before and After Here is a Before and After of what my rig looks like. In the After shot the TT wasn't quite right yet, but that is 2" worth of lift. My next tires are going to be 33s.

Kinda Bummed out.....should have gone bigger!

Go with Carrier, thats what I have and I will be buying from them again if I ever need new springs. I went with the 2" lift springs. You also have to decide whether you want "flexy", soft-cushy ride, or "standard", buck board wagon ride. They called me to find out what I wanted or needed. I...

    Moving up in the world!!!

Updated OOPS, I forgot that this thread was still going. Yeah, I got the new leafs put on. That wasn't the problem, it was getting the TT done to match the front to the rear for ride height. At first everything was good, then BAM it all went to **** in a hurry. I hit a pothole that...

    Lift's on!!!

Yeah, VT pothole suck, especially in the winter! Gotta love the 2-ton plowtrucks gouging the **** out of the roads. Some kid ripped the underpinning and exhaust out from under his care just down the road from my house. He lost control of his car, coasted over a 6-7 foot ditch, and landed in a...

    Lift's on!!!

Here are a few pics. :D I have to put her back in the shop again! :fire: I hit a pothole and broke my torsion bar levers. My frontend has dropped about 2.5 inches, maybe more. Not just that, but, I also bent 2 shocks, broke my swaybar links, and lost a couple of bushings. I haven't...
