I think I have replied to this before. The door badges were deleted as a cost reduction for 2003. At the dealers request, they were reinstated for 2004 and beyond.

Please elaborate on the technology that overcomes the basic fact that E85 contains significantly less energy that gasoline.

I believe the Side badges were deleted in 2003 as a cost reduction. They were reinstated in 2004 at the request of the dealers.

According to my shop manual for my 2004, there is no separate 4x4 module. The manual states that the functions are controlled directly by the PCM. I would assume that the same would apply to the 2005.
