    High Output Alternators

on a side note, MrAlternator didn't send me a new pulley so the output was low at idle. I got them to send me a new (smaller) pulley which fixed that problem but it chewed up about 1 belt each month. I got tired of replacing belts and put the old pulley on. Anyone else have this problem?

Key pad light is no more how do I replace it

I had this fixed under warranty and it was a huge hassle to get them to do it. Apparently there is no bulb in there and nothing user servicable (thats why they wouldnt replace it, kept saying it was a standard wear item like a light bulb - had to get the dealer to call the warranty comapny and...

    WIFE PROBLEMS

I would go in with a camcorder and record the whole thing...get them refusing to do it on tape. Let them know it is for any possible future litigation.

    Replacement Steering Pump Question

I am trying to put a new steering pump in my 96 V8 and have a quick question for anyone who has done this. The pressure fitting on the pump had a teflon oring that came apart when I removed the fitting. I thought the new pump (it is the motorcraft from the dealer) would come with a new oring...

    Just an after - 96 V8 EB

Oso- No, I don't have any more pics of 33s w/ 2" BL because i took the BL off. I only have TT/Shackles. There is more then enough room (on my truck) for 33s w/ a 2"BL, TT, and shackles. -Kevin

Yomie - Cool, glad to hear it went on OK. In the pics at the top of this post, those are the 33s. They bulge a little, but I think it looks good. Only problem is rubbing on the sway bar - those big lugs that stick out of the M/Ts. A street tread might not be so bad. Monty'01-...

    Bad Vibration

Now that you mention it, I thought the exact same thing when I put those shackles on... that the gap between the shackle and frame was too large... you may be onto something with that. I dont think it is my springs unless the shackles somehow effect them. I didn't notice the shake before the...

    Bad Vibration

Cool... hey, I just realized you are in indy too. Let me know how that goes... if it works out, maybe you could help me out w/ measuring the angles?

taxxman2k- How does the shim work to decrease the angle?

    Just an after - 96 V8 EB

Yeah - still running them. I have been trying to chase down the cause of my shakes lately tho... i lowered the front even more to soften up the torsion bars. I ended up getting crazy with a sledgehammer on my wheelwell to stop some rubbing in the back. I now get rubbing on the top of the tire...

    Bad Vibration

Well, i've got the M/Ts so they go out of balance fast anyway, but i have been in about 4 times for balancing and once for a rotation already and have only had them about 4k miles... never helps

    Bad Vibration

when do you get it? I get a nasty vibration on my 96 w/ add a leaf, tt, shackle when i hit about 65 (55 indicated w/ 33s) and it begins to lessen around 70 or 72 mph. I softened up the torsion twist to see if that would help but it didnt. Actually, strangely enough... removing the front air...

hehe, yeah... i did. I'll try to take some pictures tonight. I haven't gone at the wheelwell with my sledgehammer yet so maybe once I have done that I'll take some pics too. I dont get any rubbing on the street but it may be a problem on the trail. -Kevin

    Who has 32's and TT/Shackles

I think it took me a weekend to put it on the first time due to having to hacksaw those front bolts off... I bought an impact wrench before i took the lift off and it took me maybe 4 hours to do the whole thing... and that included a run to the store to find more bolts. I highly recommend...

    Who has 32's and TT/Shackles

Hmmm..let's see. The instructions do tell you where the bolts go, but since this kit wasn't made for the new explorers, they aren't correct. What I ended up doing was using the new bolts, but i drilled out all of my bushings w/ a 1/2" bit and stuck nuts underneath because they were all too...

    Who has 32's and TT/Shackles

Hey, I think I will go ahead and sell my body lift... a couple things to think about though... I think i may have used a couple bolts from the kit when i took the lift off because i drilled through my bushings so I needed longer bolts (so u may need to find a couple bolts or depending on how...

    blackened TB.....

Hmmm.... I had my throttle body off of my v8 the other day and there was a big sticker that said something to the effect of "Tb has a special coating - DO NOT CLEAN". And it was coated, but not black... it was like an orange gummy stuff... any idea what that is? -Kevin

Help... I keep melting aftermarket fog switch

Well... it depends. The wiring to that fuse has to be heavy enough to support the load of the lights + whatever else is running off that wiring. I don't know what the specifics of the wiring running to the fuse box are so I can't tell you if any of them meet that requirement. That is the wire...

Help... I keep melting aftermarket fog switch

Take a look at a page i put up: Dead Link Removed it is for a bike project i was working on but the principal is the same. You can get an auto relay at radio shack for about $5. The way it works is this: You have a power input which is basically just a trigger from a power source. In...

    Who has 32's and TT/Shackles

Yeah, that may effect it more. The 6s and 8s have different powerbands... plus you will feel more of a difference with a manual than you will with an auto. -Kevin

    Who has 32's and TT/Shackles

Sounds good... I'll let you know in a day or two. A couple things, though. Do you have the v8? I only have the 3.73 in mine and although the power is down, its not extreme (had a lot on tap). I have been considering redoing the gears but I am trying to get a price and see if the expense is...

    Who has 32's and TT/Shackles

continued... I didnt use any new brackets on the back. I just slid the bumper up on the stock bracket and drilled a single new hole in the frame and attached the bumper with a single bolt on each side. I also had to dremel out a little groove on each side of the bumper underneath so the bottom...
