The 02 and 03 used a regular throttle body. They switched it over to electric in 04.

My intake phase is done. I decided to just keep the stock manifold. Now I just wait out the winter and get my exhast work done next.

Well we all know the explorer ends with the Gen IV :exp:. :( Only thing I like about it is the turbo engine. Its as shame its going into something so ugly.

The Gen III drives amazing well for what it is. Sure its no car but it handles much better then most other suvs I have been in. Just jump in a jeep or a gen II and see the difference.

Thanks, but I did already order the CL. I am not sure when its going to get here yet. I got the TB installed. While it was not expected, its seems to have removed all the slack in the gas pedal. I can't if it removed the slack from the cable, or if its because the spring is brand new. Either...

I got the CL elbow from henson performance. TB came in today. Just waiting on the elbow. On a side note got my pullys installed today. What difference. I was not expecteding to notice much but it seems to idle more smoothly and quitly. And when you step gas it it goes. After the CL comes...

The 4.6L is one of fords best engines. Its been on wards top 10 more then once. The engine should out last the rest of the explorer. The tranny like most cars tends to be the weakest link.

I went with C&L for my upper and ford Racing for the TB. I hope they get here for the weekend. I think that means I need to mod the CL do you have have pictures of your mod. I think its pretty strait forwad but pics make things so much easier.

Cool, thats answers the PM as well. I am thinking CL is what I am looking to go with. Does not seem to be as impressive as the ACCUFAB but better then the other brands and I do trust the name.

I did read the dynos and it seems that Accufab is by far the best. Just cost about 100 more then the other brands. I was going to combo it with a 70mmTB.

On the 04 and 05, I believe there is a sort of mod you can do to the TB. If you open up the TB and look inside you can see these little fingers that you can remove and get some better peformance out of it. You may have to search the forums I bit I do remember seeing that a few months back.

Get in on the passanger side. Pull down the glove box all the way. Now look towards your left. You should be able to see a few actuators that have air lines going into them. Turn on the car and turn move your control know to the different positions. You should hear and see the actuators...

Sucks about your Ex. I have come pretty close to hitting deer. There is a couple of places they run out right inbetweem house and cross the road to a near by field.

Now, I do believe there are some ways around the law so you can still do it and get away with it but I am not sure what they are.
