    Intermittent A/C problem - 97 Ford Explorer 5.0 V8

Is it easy to test for this? By "door actuator", you mean an A/C door? Sorry if these are stupid questions. Thanks again.

    Intermittent A/C problem - 97 Ford Explorer 5.0 V8

Hi, it is intermittent even on Max A/C. On Max A/C it will start out ice cold and then I hear that "sucking" sound, almost like a flap closing, and then immediately hot air.

    Intermittent A/C problem - 97 Ford Explorer 5.0 V8

1997 Ford Explorer XLT 5.0 V8 Good Morning, I started having an intermittent A/C problem about two weeks ago. Sometimes the A/C will work as it should, blowing ice cold air. Sometimes the A/C will start blowing ice cold air, but then I hear almost like a flap closing near the floor...

    Driver's Side Headlamp Not Working

You are a lifesaver! Connected wires #1 & #11 Connected wires #12 & #13 Oddly enough, wires #14 & #15 were already spliced together so I left them alone You were right about the filament in the brake lamp. Swapped bulbs and symptoms followed it After the splicing and bulb replacement...

    Driver's Side Headlamp Not Working

I jumped them on the board itself. That's what I read in one of the other posts. So you're saying to cut the wires from the LOM plug and just tie them together? They don't need to be connected to the LOM any longer? Maybe I'll swap the brake bulbs to make sure about the filament...

    Driver's Side Headlamp Not Working

Ok, driving home this afternoon got 2 messages: "Check Head Lamps" & "Check Brake Lamps" Got home and found out that driver's side brake lamp was no longer working. So, last night, jumping pins 1 & 11 fixed the driver's low-beam headlight, but now 2 errors and no driver's brakelamp when...

    Driver's Side Headlamp Not Working

UPDATE: Checked wire harness, etc.....no signs of pinch. Removed Light Outage Module and board looked like it had a few trouble spots. Tried soldering with no luck. Ended up modifying by just jumping pin #1 and #11 together which fixed the low beam problem on the driver's side...

    Driver's Side Headlamp Not Working

97' Ford Explorer Eddie Bauer 5.0 V8 Hi, Having trouble with my driver's side headlamp (only). Thought it was just the bulb, but replaced and still nothing. Odd thing is that it comes on with high-beams activated. Passenger side headlamp working just fine, with and without high...

Radio stopped working but can't find the source

Ok, sorry for the delay, but here's the update. Dimmer switch is working again.....maybe just a fluke. A/C Control problem was unrelated to the radio. I replaced the blower motor resistor and that is working fine now. Had a mechanic near my work test the fuses, he said they are all...

Radio stopped working but can't find the source

Thanks! I will check after work. Not to sound stupid, but where exactly would I check for the ground wire?

Radio stopped working but can't find the source

Please help, as I am pulling my hair out. I have searched for a week on forums, sites, and manuals but cannot find the solution. I have a 1997 Ford Explorer XLT 5.0 V8. It has the JBL Premium audio installed with an Apline CDA-9827 head unit. A little over a week ago, the sound just...

Found my vacuum leak! But HELP! Where does the hose connect?

I can't tell. It curves behind the intake. It's too tight to follow or see. Maybe someone with the 97 XLT V8 can compare theirs to the photo to see where the missing hose goes from the port shown.

Found my vacuum leak! But HELP! Where does the hose connect?

There is one other hose connected to the backside of the port. The brakes work just fine.

    This isn't right

Thanks very much for your help. This answered my question. I Googled "bellhousing drain plug" and it's exactly what i need. I do have a pull it yourself salvage yard nearby and will go there to get one. Can you possibly answer my post on my vacuum hose issue?

Found my vacuum leak! But HELP! Where does the hose connect?

Yes, once I took the "Macgyver" 3 inch piece of hose off that had the bolt jammed into the end of it, it wants to stall and idles irratically when started. The port sucks like crazy. When I put my finger on it, it has powerful suction. Hope this helps. I just need to figure out where to...

    This isn't right

I got it. Thanks for explaining. So if I were to go to the salvage yard and ask for a replacement, what exactly would I ask for? Flywheel plug/cover??? I understand it's no biggie, but my wife wants it back. Thanks.

Can you tell where the other end should connect?

    This isn't right

So.......it's either the torque converter or flywheel case? How do I know for sure? I just want to know what part I'm looking for. Also, I see no fluid. I even stuck my finger inside. Nothing.

Found my vacuum leak! But HELP! Where does the hose connect?

This diagram is posted under the hood, however, it doesn't make it clear which hose this is. Can you explain? I'm far from an auto expert. Thanks.
