Is it an automatic? did you try moving/shaking the gearshift or starting in neutral? Just a thought, in case the neutral saftey linkage is loose or broken.

Right, new Ford is best, I was just mentioning the price, for some reason, this altenator is pricey for a domestic vechicle. I was quoted $185 and that was for an aftermarket reman. The junkyard dog was $35 5x less

forgot to mention a new altenator for these can be pricey, I put in a used one for less than half the price just to see if that was the problem, Im not saying to buy used parts but it worked for me.

my altenator partially locked up once and made a screaming loud sound and a nasty smell, (from the belt not turning properly) changed it, and it was fine you may want to check that out.

Thanks Derocha you were right on when you said about it being fused onto the spindle, it actully looked like it was machined that way, I had to carefully chisel it off.

Boy dew I feel like a jag... The inner race of the inner bearing was gallded ontu the spindle...got her all bak together now thanks for all the help!!!!!

Thanks guys, I'm thinking that maybe I should tell the parts guy I need one wheel bearing and one axle bearing? the inner being the axle. the bearing won't slide unto the shaft far enough not even close the inner shaft has a (step up) for the bearing ...any comments?
