    Digital Gauge readings

There's a couple of old threads about the scan gauge, and the ELM 327 and Torque app, and plenty of people saying what parameters they can read, but I would really like to know what values people are getting. For example, at idle, my 4.6 is showing 14% throttle - I was expecting 0% since I...

Fitting an Expedition Brush Guard/Nudge Bar to Explorer - anyone done it?

I am looking at fitting a nudge bar to me 2004 Explorer, and as had as it is to find parts and accessories for the Explorer in Oz, can can you believe that the nudge bar for an expedition is more readily available, and is cheaper, and Ford don't even sell the Expedition in oz?! So.....I am...

    2003 Explorer with ECB bullbar

Finally got a reasonable pic of the Ex with the ECB bar on. Will break out the camera this weekend and get a few better ones. Still need to mount a mini-winch to it, and fix the broken license plate.

Exploring the beaches of Moreton Island (Australia)

Here are a few shots of our recent trip to moreton island off the Queensland coast (Australia). For any Aussies thinking of going - do it! The Ex loved it; it may sound easy driving on sand etc, and it is after some practice, so is definitely a good way to get to know your ex off the beaten...

    Cooper STT

I have just bought a second hand set of 5 x 265/70/17s for AUD$250 (less than USD$150) - they have around 70% tread remaining so should be OK. Anyone running the Cooper STTs? Anyone know when the ArmorTek3 was added to the construction of them? My main concern is how they wear on tarmac...

    Black 16" rims with 265/75s

Just thought I'd post up some pics of a few days work. The rims have been sitting in the garage so I was able to take my time with these (currently running on the 17s with 245/65s). 1. First step was to thoroughly wash the rims - I used Amway IndustroClean, but you could use sugarsoap, or...

Cracked Rear window trim 2004 XLT

Has anyone had the trim at the base of the rear window on the tailgate crack or otherwise break? Ours broke today, and I'm just wondering what could cause this - there is no sign of a hit from another car, so it just looks like a stress crack. Also wondering how easy this bit is to replace -...

Where to attach winch on Gen 3 Explorer

Has anyone fitted a winch to their Gen 3 (mine's a 2004 model) Explorer? If so, where? At this stage it looks like i'll have to attach it to the back, as there doesn't seem to be any good (strong) mounting places on the front, but if someone has already done this, then a few pics of what...

    Fix for Throttle Lag

Hey all. I haven't had my 2004 Explorer very long - about 3 months now, and one thing that annoys me is the throttle lag - which is really a lack of delicate throttle (pedal) control. Having owned a number of fords over the years where the accelerator (gas) pedal is hinged and uses a spring...

    G'day

Hi all. New member here from Australia (Down Under). I just picked up a 2004 Explorer XLT 4.6 V8 5 speed auto. Nice little truck. Will post a pic up as soon as I figure out how, and hopefully I'll learn, and share, info about Ford's most popular SUV.
